- "I don't know for a fact that these were any raiders in particular. I simply assumed their identity and purpose because of our current proximity to the Vagaari pirate base."
- ―Captain Fsir
The Vagaari pirate base was the Vagaari pirates' base.[1] In 18 BBY,[2] Watith Captain Fsir tried to trick Chiss Senior Captain Mitth'raw'nuruodo (core name "Thrawn") with the supposed location of the base. When they arrived at the supposed base, Fsir and his freighter, the Saltbarrel opened fire on Thrawn. However, the Chiss used plasma spheres and disabled it, ending the threat, and capturing the Watith.[1]
Behind the scenes
The Vagaari pirate base was mentioned in the 2021 novel Thrawn Ascendancy: Greater Good, the second volume in the Star Wars: The Ascendancy Trilogy written by Timothy Zahn.[1]
