The Utor system was located in the Inner Rim.[1] The Utor Shock, a conflict in which the Galactic Republic's Judicial Forces had a key role in that took place in 602 BBY, took place in the vicinity of the star system.[2]

The Utor system was mentioned in the StarWars.com Online Companion to the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas, which placed in in grid square L-15.[1]
