Re:

Hi! If an article is already linked to in the body, it's not necessary to link to it in a quote. Panaka is already linked to in the Invasion of Naboo section. I didn't mention that in the edit summary because I made a few other tweaks to the article as well. Menkooroo 10:56, July 5, 2010 (UTC)

  • I wouldn't be surprised if a consensus track was started to remove those examples from the manual of style... it seems to usually come down to a matter of personal taste, and most featured articles I've seen don't employ it. But! You are absolutely correct to consult the manual of style, and for that, I applaud you. Like I said, it's usually a matter of personal taste on the editor, but as this is a community and R2-D2 isn't a featured article nomination or anything, I won't protest (or revert) if you add the link back in. ^^ Menkooroo 12:42, July 5, 2010 (UTC)
    • As Menkooroo says, it's not forbidden, but we generally avoid linking something if it's mentioned in the body. That's just how it is (a CT will probably be proposed fairly soon including, among other things, the outlawing of redundant linking, like to Panaka in the R2 quote). Thanks. Formatting references

Hey! I just wanted to let you know that when adding a reference list, you should use {{Reflist}} rather than using the <references/> tag directly. This changes the formatting of the list and also allows for easily splitting the list into columns should it become extremely long. Also, when adding <ref name="foo" /> tags, it's generally preferred to use a space before the slash in a repeat occurrence tag, as well as to not use spaces around the equals sign; while this has no direct technical effect, standardization like this makes things easier on bot owners, who would otherwise have to program a boatload of exceptions in the event it becomes necessary to modify stuff like that en masse. Thanks, and may the Force be with you! —Master Jonathan New Jedi Order (Jedi Council Chambers) 21:00, July 5, 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for the info! ;) --TheBearPaw 08:48, July 6, 2010 (UTC)

Re: Food category

Hi. Foodstuff is a perfectly correct term that is the most suitable to use here because it describes a category that contains substances that can be consumed for nutrition (food, in other words). It doesn't mean "stuff that can be food", if anything, it is a more formal variant of "food". Your version of "food-related materials" could then include fertilizer or cooking utensils, for example, because they are related to food. Hopefully that clears things up for you, NAYAYEN:TALK 22:11, August 9, 2010 (UTC)
