Captain Footnotes
Re: here. Sure, I can try—if I can remember the sources. Tighter source referencing does appeal to me, and will help improve my own precision. --McEwok 18:13, 18 February 2007 (UTC)
- Regarding this: I do think page-specific footnotes help (they're not obligatory, but I should try to do them for all the novels, if not the comics); I also remember adding Captain/Colonel for the Alliance and the CEDF (based on The Swarm War), and this is of course the real-world system; again, Major directly above Captain is what happens in the US and UK, but the ISB doesn't explicitly exclude the existence of an intermediate grade between the two ranks, which we undoubtedly see in other canon material dealing with the Imperial military. --McEwok 12:00, 19 February 2007 (UTC)
-
- Now I'm confused. I'd forgotten that they added the major as Battalion commander in GttGAR (in fact, I rather suspect that the G-canon "1.2 million" and the corps/"Battle Army" structure in AotC:ICS is all based on The Imperial Sourcebook's OB for a Sector Army); but majors seem to be subsumed into the generic "commander" role with yellow details on their armour. --McEwok 14:43, 22 February 2007 (UTC)

SuperShadow among us?
- Either SuperShadow, or a devotee was trolling around (talk pages only as far as I'm aware) using the IP 65.57.106.15. I'm not sure if there's any policy on reverting talk pages, so I figured I'd ask. Vryce 08:09, 20 February 2007 (UTC)

Anon bans
I would have banned that vandal infinitely. He will return and continue vandalizing tomorrow. - TopAce 18:45, 24 February 2007 (UTC)
- That would be overkill. Indefinite blocks are reserved for identified open proxies (especially the misconfigured ones which leave extra backslashes everywhere); usernames which were used only for large-scale vandalization, belong to repeatedly warned users, were used to circumvent temporary blocks, or are obviously offensive; and IPs used only by the most persistent vandals. After being blocked for one day, an anonymous user who only posted relatively innocuous nonsense will probably go off to do something else. —Silly Dan (talk) 18:49, 24 February 2007 (UTC)

Latter
I don't know exactly how this works, but as an admin, is it possible for you to look up the anon who posted the article Latter? I think they got the information from the following excerpt from the Mimban entry in the databank and I'd like to explain to them that "latter" is a word in the english language, in this case referring to the Coway, not a new species.
- Mimban has numerous intelligent species indigenous to the world, including the "Greenies" and the Coway. The first is a species of green-furred Mimbanite humanoids who have been exploited by the human population. The latter is a gray-furred species of troglodytes who are powerful warriors.

User:DarkJedi Robert went on to my sig page and added his sig so when ever I write mine his would come up. I just thought I'd let you know.
Grand Admiral Nick Vos [Holonet]
- I see. I'm assuming for now that it was a mistake on his part, not deliberate vandalism.... Anyway, this is one of the major reasons people with custom sigs like to use subst'd templates: malicious or merely incorrect edits to the signatures won't propagate through to a bunch of talk pages. On the other hand, good and useful edits won't either. 8) —Silly Dan (talk) 19:24, 22 March 2007 (UTC)

Bimkall merge
I certainly can. Due to the fact that it does not exsist at all, and is in fact due to an IU technical glitch, it should be relegated to a section on the HoloNet news article. It's like an alias. We don't have an article at Darth Vader explaining how it was a Sith name that Anakin Skywalker used. We shouldn't have stuff like Kenex Kil and all that. It's just not..."encyclopedic". .... 12:11, 6 April 2007 (UTC)
- Yes, yes, I know it stinks of ulterior motive and all that, but what I had in mind was, on the HoloNet article, (the IU one that is) a section about "mistakes", which would discuss "errors" in the HoloNet's "history" that could also include any continuity errors brought up in the series. Just a thought. .... 12:21, 6 April 2007 (UTC)

Re:Religious parallels.
Please don't remove that section as I added more sources.I am not pushing it to be true ot that I beleive it,but I just think we need to also point out connections to Earth outside of just pop culture.
If you feel it shouldn't be there then please let me know and we'll discuss it on the talkpag eor our talkpages.Thankyou.--نادرالی
- Two of those links are just the opinion and interpretation of individual Christian viewers, while the first one is a semi-coherent page written by someone who believes Star Wars to be real history, and that he is the only person with access to the revealed truth. I suppose one could write something on religious interpretations of Star Wars, but I don't think the references are specific enough to go on the List of references to Earth in Star Wars page. We'd also need significant sources on religious interpretations (i.e. published sources on Christian, Muslim, Buddhist, or other religious interpretations, not self-published blog posts or web pages.) —Silly Dan (talk) 23:30, 17 April 2007 (UTC)
- But the source does have interpritations from other religions. And he is citing the scriptures. What I'm saying is it's not true but it is drawin the link to Earth in the Star Wars galaxy.Take ET for example.Fcitional story, but still is based on Earth.Same thing with the religious sources. The religious books might be fictional, but still draw links between Earth and Star Wars. What's more is we only seem to have refferences to pop-culture movies, but no refferences outside of that,so we need one here.--Nadirali نادرالی

- That would be perfectly fine (though we really should add a BoShek picture somewhere too, just to keep things even.) Add it to the list! —Silly Dan (talk) 21:23, 18 April 2007 (UTC)
- I was thinking about a BoShek pic too. To be honest, I don't particularly like the way Rasha is depicted generally. Her slightly unintelligent-looking facial features along with her... errr... anatomy remind me of a sexist stereotype of women that was prevalent some time prior to the 1980s. if i wanted to change my user name, would it change it on everything ive edited's history and on all the things ive signed, or do i need to change those as well?Darth Blight 21:01, 19 April 2007 (UTC)
- Actually, you can't change your username on Wikia. The closest you can come is:
- Set up a new account, and start editing under that account.
- Replace your current userpage with the text #REDIRECT[[User:(insert your new username here)]] (a hard redirect), or text advising browsers of your new username, together with a link (a soft redirect.)
- Your old contributions will not be attributed to your new account, but anyone clicking your old signature or looking your username up when checking article histories will be redirected to your new account.
(Over on Wikipedia, you can change your username, and have your former username's contributions attributed to your new account. You can also go through your old contributions to talk pages and change your signature. However, if you start a new account, I recommend you don't do that in order to avoid confusion. Just leave it so your old user page points to the new one.) —Silly Dan (talk) 21:56, 19 April 2007 (UTC)

have you ever played Knights Of The Old Republic 2. Well the trailer in the opening sequence has the announcer call the exile a guy he says "and there is once thing standing in our way, should HE choose his path etc. So why are we calling the exile a girl now
- For the record, the Jedi Exile was described as a heroine in The New Essential Guide to Droids. For your own sake, don't start a forum or something on a talk page about how it's stupid that the Jedi Exile is female. Please, just don't even try it. -- SFH 04:02, 10 June 2007 (UTC)

opinion, but doesn't it feel as if the game was made for a guy path. Look at Mical, he clearly is a last minute half baked addition. ANd the railer came before the New Essential Guide To Droids...now didn't it

true enough true enough. Then again the canon doesn't always end up being better. Have we learned nothing from the destruction of Boba Fett.
