Welcome, my old friend
Hi Senator, welcome. You may remember me from the place where we pretend to be actual senators.--ZapikCZ (talk) 18:15, July 14, 2017 (UTC)
I do. I remember some of our conversations on /r/StarWars and other places. --SenatorConfer
Creating pages
Thanks for starting on the Star Wars: The Last Jedi (novel) page, but please be aware that you need to add sources to the page to avoid it potentially being deleted for fanon or anything, thanks --Lewisr (talk) 22:30, July 21, 2017 (UTC)
Talk pages
Hey SenatorConfer! I've noticed a few instances, such as Talk:Anakin Skywalker/Legends and Talk:Karen Traviss, where you've replied to comments that are several years old by saying that talk pages are to discuss the page, not the subject. While that is indeed true, it's not necessary to reply to conversations that haven't been touched in years. Odds are those editors have since moved on, so it doesn't add anything necessary to the talk page. Not a big deal, but I wanted to let you know so it can be avoided in the future! - Brandon Rhea(talk) 18:18, July 2, 2018 (UTC)
- Sorry, I just see comments that need to be corrected and I gloss over the dates when they are posted. That's my fault. SenatorConfer (talk) 18:26, July 2, 2018 (UTC)
Resistance
Currently we can't add things to Resistance pages until its intial Eastern showing, according to the spoiler policy --Lewisr (talk) 21:09, November 24, 2019 (UTC)
Edits
Please be careful when removing tweets from articles. You have also been removing necessary infobox parameters along with the tweet, like here. Tommy Macaroni 19:28, April 12, 2020 (UTC)
- Ah, my bad. Thanks for catching me on that. I'll be more careful in correcting. Keeper of the Timeline (talk) 19:30, April 12, 2020 (UTC)
Year vs. years BBY
Even if Timelines is ultimately published with the preview page clarifying that the year 1 BBY ends when the battle begins, it wouldn’t be the best approach for the wiki because most of the time we don’t actually learn if an event said to be nine years before Yavin was actually 8.8 years before (and thus in 9 BBY) or 9.2 years before (and thus in 10 BBY). The options are to assume 9 BBY or awkwardly estimate “c.9 BBY”, which Timelines also uses though I can’t imagine why, since the authors should have access to Pablo Hidalgo’s internal timeline where, for example, 1 BBY begins in “May 1976”, which is the basis for Lothal Years and C.R.C.
If, on the other hand, we were to keep the current numbering but merely replace references such as “in 9 BBY” with “nine years BBY”, or better yet, “BSW4”, both the accuracy and clarity of articles would be much improved, not to mention that the ABY/BBY system would be demoted from an actual calendar to merely an internal convention, in line with the notion that Star Wars doesn’t actually have a single universal system.
