Denal

Hey, QGJ,

It seems that I need a name is unavailable for comment regarding this matter. I would suggest that you do as you've said, and remove the statement entirely. That will satisfy my objection for now, but if you do end up conferring with INAN at some point regarding a source for that statement, then feel free to readd it to the article. Hope this helps, and thanks for submitting articles for Featured status review. I've enjoyed what I've read of your work thus far.Tommy 17px (Nine two eight one) 16:36, 1 April 2009 (UTC)

With regard to the same article, it seems to me that the three tasks that Denal completes on Rodia should all be part of the same mission/battle, rather than three separate articles. I say this because there seems to be continuity between all three tasks, without Denal and co leaving the planet. The Battle of Jabiim, for instance, takes the same approach, describing the various events that took place over a week as one battle. It will also mean there is one article of some length/substance, rather than multiple smaller ones. It could even be a GA. --Eyrezer 21:24, 1 April 2009 (UTC)

Empire at War

Hello. Judging by your recent uploads I see that you have the game at this moment. Could you please provide some of the images needed for the following articles?

I understand that it is quite a lot to ask, but most of those articles have no images at all and I don't have the game at the moment. Even some of the images would be appreciated. Mauser 09:37, 2 April 2009 (UTC)

Timothy Zahn

Guess what? Timothy Zahn is going to write a new book to be released in 2011. Here is a link to the article on Star Wars.com: "Timothy Zahn Returns with a New Novel". It sounds like it has ties to "Alliegance." ZEM talk to me! 21:09, 5 April 2009 (UTC)

Pre-birth

  • I'm in favor of a limited section on that. There isn't any major precedent in terms of FAs, AFAIK, but it would merit inclusion of sorts. The vision, yes, most of the rest, yes. The one thing I don't like is the speculation about the conception, but other than that, good job. Atarumaster88 20px (Talk page) 00:32, 6 April 2009 (UTC)

Trask Lucan

Hey QGJ. I saw that you had removed Lucan's RPG stats as being game mechanics and I was wondering where you had read that? I'm not doubting you or anything, I'm simply curious to know, since that may mean I would have to do some rewrites. Thanks. Cylka-talk- 23:03, 6 April 2009 (UTC)

  • I looked over the information, and I'm not sure that you had to remove it. The way I have always understood the game mechanics is that you couldn't say so-and-so could deal x amount of damage with a sword or blaster. That Lucan was mechanical is vague enough, and I actually think that you should add back in that he was a pilot, since that is important. I also don't consider the gambling a problem either. You could even probably add in that he knew how to talk to people based on his bargaining and streetwise knowledge. The whole thing with the RPG stats is finding a way to include them, without saying "he had 3D DEX and 5D dodge." Instead, I would say, "his physical conditioning was such that often, he could avoid his enemies' blows" or somesuch. In my opinion, I think it was fine the way you had it. Denal

Hi QuiGonJinn. I see you've put the wip tag backup on Denal. I presume it is in response to my objection on the FAN page re timing. If so, I encourage you to discuss it with other users, not just change to the way I suggested. Do you frequent the IRC channel at all? There should be some users there to talk it over. --Eyrezer 09:56, 19 April 2009 (UTC)

  • You don't actually need an account with IRC. Just use this link: http://irc.wikia.com/irc.cgi --Eyrezer 08:28, 20 April 2009 (UTC)
    • Hey QuiGon, are you still intending on working on the Unidentified pirate leader? It's been almsot 3 weeks with the wip template up and no activity. Can I remove the template? --Eyrezer 06:07, 21 April 2009 (UTC)
      • Cool. I periodically go through and remove the wip tag from articles that don't appear to be "in use". Re Denal, it sounds fair enough not to use the template. The non-bold words seem to fit Denal fine, but the bolded ones don't. Seeing as it's a subset of another objection, I will just strike that top one when Denal is ready. Is there any chance of getting some more screenshots from the mobile game? The unidentified Jedi could use one if possible. --Eyrezer 23:32, 21 April 2009 (UTC)
        • I've just approved Denal, so it will be queued shortly. Well done. With regard to images, is that shot of the Jedi from gameplay or a cutscene? I ask because I think its quality is fine, and so if it is from in game I think it would be great to get a screen shot of Denal and his troopers in action. It would convey the feel of the game a bit. Unfortunately I've only been able to play the demo, but that was actually quite fun! --Eyrezer 23:01, 24 April 2009 (UTC)

    • Yun is alluded to. The relevant quote is:
Source: The New Essential Chronology

Several of the Emperor's Dark Side Adepts, led by the Dark Jedi Jerec, had attracted corporate backers to form a warlord cabal. Their influence was limited, but Jerec had discovered the Valley of the Jedi on Ruusan, where the spirits of the Brotherhood of Darkness and Army of Light had been trapped in limbo for a thousand years. Jerec planned to use the valley's power to topple Isard and rule a vast new Empire. Katarn single-handedly defeated Jerec and his minions before the Dark Jedi's grandiose plans could come to fruition.

Battle of Kiros

Hey man, the Battle of Kiros article is looking great :) I was going to suggest to replace "Rex" and "Cody" in the infobox with CC-7567 and CC-2224. So it would be:

Notes and references

Re: Battle of Kiros

Sure.

  1. Please watch underlinking; I've gotten what I can, but I suggest that you read through it once more to check.
  2. Can the intro be shortened slightly? Three paragraphs is a bit long for a battle this short; you might want to try shuffling around where you start new paragraphs, but there's a bit too much focus on Kenobi's fight with Ugg.
  3. "The Republic troops arrived too late" sounds like they immediately lost the battle, and it's rather unspecific.
  4. "However" is used slightly more than necessary in the last intro paragraph.
  5. "With Kiros liberated, the Jedi set off there": unclear; please check.
  6. "One day" is a bit storybookish; please try to reword it.
  7. The prelude section is rather choppy; please see if you can merge some of the sentences. Also, you might want to try using only one paragraph instead of a skimpy first one and a longer second.
  8. In the second paragraph of "The battle", can you try to shorten Ugg's communication with the holographic figure a bit? The article is on the battle, and while this part is indeed important, there's a tad of excess emphasis with the detail.
  9. Can there be more focus on the disarming of the bombs during "The battle"? It's rather scanty at the moment, and although I don't mean for you to list how they disarmed every single one, more detail would be nice.
  10. What was the original point of the mission to the remains of the Shi'kar homeworld? I don't think they decided off the bat to steal a Zygerrian ship.

I think the rest can wait till the GAN page; good job so far. I'm definitely never going to touch the comic battles, so you're welcome to take the rest. :P CC7567 (talk) 23:21, 18 July 2009 (UTC)

  • I'll take another look at Kiros later today when I get the chance. CC7567 (talk) 18:31, 20 July 2009 (UTC)

Second look

  1. "During the Clone Wars, the Togrutan colony world of Kiros preferred to stay neutral and avoid allying itself with either the Confederacy of Independent Systems or the Galactic Republic until the Confederacy launched an invasion against Kiros." That last part is extremely sudden; can you try to give more buildup? You're suggesting that Kiros immediately allied itself when the Confederacy arrived, and while that is close to true, it's rather unspecific right now.
  2. "Skywalker and Tano immediately settled up": can you check this? It's not making much sense.
  3. Other than that, it looks good enough to go; I may give it another once-over, but good work. CC7567 (talk) 16:24, 21 July 2009 (UTC)
