Re:Former FA page
No, you haven't breeched any protocol. :-)
For a start, everything needs to be sourced. Most of the bio is, but the BtS, P&T and P&A sections lack complete sourcing. (In the case of the BtS, reference notes are not necessary if the sentence sources itself; i.e. if the source is mentioned in the sentence).
QuiGonJinn's already mentioned it on the talk page: detail is the main problem. Really, if an experienced FA writer using good detail wrote the article, it would be in excess of 150 KBs, I would think (it's currently at 61,217). The only way to really get a good idea of what kind of detail is needed is to read other, recently passed FAs, particularly ones you're knowledgable about.
There are probably problems with the article's tone and the like — for example, Katarn shouldn't be referred to as "Kyle," but by his surname — and general cleanup and aesthetic work, but that's minor enough stuff compared to the detail problem.
I'll be honest: I don't know if you'll be able to properly re-FA Katarn, and I would be surprised if you ever finish him. Often new users arrive with noble aims to FA or re-FA a massive article, and 99 times out of a 100 they get overwhelmed and can never finish, or don't have a good enough idea of what kind of quality is expected of FAs. Kyle is a pretty huge undertaking since he's such a major character, and a far from ideal first FA. I'd suggest starting off with some smaller projects and working your way up, rather than going straight for the jugular. Of course, if you do decide to go ahead with it, I'll be willing to give you pointers along the way.
I believe Darth Culator either plans to or had already started working on re-FAing Katarn offline, with the intention of adding the whole thing when it's finished, so you might want to talk to him about that.
I hope that helps. -- AdmirableAckbar (Talk) 19:34, 19 March 2009 (UTC)
Darth Culator says in his user page that is already working on katarn's page --Revan, Prodigal Knight 00:26, 28 March 2009 (UTC)
KotOR Project
Hey there. I just wanted to welcome you to the project. I'm sorry that I am late with this welcome, as I've had a couple of weeks of RL issues. Anyway, it's great to see you working on articles and Taris is a good planet to work with. If you have any questions or want/need any help, just let me know. Again, welcome! Re:User talk:Cylka
Hey QOT1R: I saw your message to Cylka; she's away for a bit tonight, I believe, but if you drop by #WP:KOTOR again, I'm sure one of us present could assist you. Most of us have the comics and so forth. Graestan(Talk) 23:55, 7 May 2009 (UTC)
Miss Super Meditator
Hey, Quuenofthering, I noticed that you are working on Bastila's article. I've got an intro almost done, I'll give it to you so you cxan finish it if you want.--Jedi Kasra (talk) 16:14, 28 May 2009 (UTC)
- Sorry for the late response, I'll finish working on the intro, and give it to you to see if you think it needs anything else.--Jedi Kasra (talk) 15:28, 10 June 2009 (UTC)
- OK, I'll use your e-mail feature to send you the intro so as not to clutter up your talk page.--Jedi Kasra (talk) 14:27, 11 June 2009 (UTC)
- True, but I'd presume that the webcomic on swtor.com was enough of a source, since they Satele Shan comes from the Shan bloodline, and that she had the same "gift" as Bastila.--Jedi Kasra (talk) 14:16, 12 June 2009 (UTC)
- OK, I'll post it on Shan's article, and give you credit for your assistance. Good to work with you, and hope we can work together again.--Jedi Kasra (talk) 14:06, 25 June 2009 (UTC)
Dialog files
Hey there Q1r. I found another link for the dialog files. The site is a really good one for all sorts of information as well. Good luck and let me know if you have any other questions. Cylka-talk- 08:09, 23 June 2009 (UTC)
Hey
Hi, I'm Jamie. I just thought that you would enjoy knowing that having a generation ahead of you must be so cool! My dad is a trekian and we constantly argue about which is cooler.
