Typo edits
Hi there, please note that editing closed threads, such as this one, is unnecessary. There's no need to take care of typos unless they're in mainspace articles. Thanks. RattsT (talk) 23:46, September 5, 2020 (UTC)
- I understand that the editing of closed threads is unnecessary from a website point of view, I feel that by fixing the typos it will make it easier for the next individual who goes through looking for the same typo in years to come. Kevspy (talk) 23:50, September 5, 2020 (UTC)
- You should take note of the big red letters at the top of the pages you've edited that say "Please do not modify." It is unnecessary because it is against site policy. Per our talk page policy, "No user may edit another user's comment, except to remove a personal attack or to redact private personal information." This goes for all talk, thread, and discussion pages. RattsT (talk) 23:55, September 5, 2020 (UTC)
- Thank you for pointing out the error of my ways I am sorry for any damage that I may have caused. I will not make the same mistake again. Kevspy (talk) 00:00, September 6, 2020 (UTC)
- Don't worry, you haven't caused any damage. And there's nothing wrong with fixing typos, but the pages you were fixing aren't in need of that. If someone typed a talk page message illegibly 15 years ago then illegible it shall remain. Correcting typos is certainly a valuable task, just one that is better put to use on the mainspace pages that the majority of readers will come across. I hope this helps!
