Timelines = SWCC 2022: 7 Things We Learned from the Lucasfilm Publishing Behind the Page Panel on StarWars

Welcome, Jpercy 2!

Hello, Toxxq 9, and welcome to Wookieepedia! We hope you like the place and choose to join us in building the best Star Wars encyclopedia there is. Here are some things you should know:

Wookiees-Transparent

New to wikis? Don't worry, we were all new once. Our help pages will get you started, and the Jundland Wastes sandbox can be used for test edits. Don't be afraid to make mistakes—be bold!

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wookieepedian! If you have any questions, you can consult our FAQ, ask a question in the Senate Hall forum, visit our official IRC channel, or leave me a message on my talk page.

Species category

Hey! I would say that if we only have one member of a species, then its unnecessary to make a category for that species. Eventually I'm sure we will get enough Boosodian‎‎s to have a category for example. Hope this makes sense! Thanks --Lewisr (talk) 15:22, August 16, 2020 (UTC)

Potential new unidentified planet or regular planet

Hello! I wanted to bring up a potential unidentified planet I was looking for but could not find. It’s in the game Star Wars Squadrons. The first appearance was when Vanguard squadron was first coming back because they were late to hear their new leaders, Lindon Javes, speech. As they were coming back, the Temperance, their flagship, was stationed over an orange colored planet. I thought it might have been Yavin Prime but I’m not too sure because of the texture and overall look between the two. If you or anyone could help name it if it does have a name or if it’s just an unidentified planet. If it is an unidentified planet be my guest and make a new page for it. Thank you so much!

Communication

Hi, I'm also working on the List of planets. Would you be interested in joining the Wookieepedia Discord or finding another way to communicate and better coordinate our work on the List of planets? CanePlayz (talk) 09:00, 2 June 2022 (UTC)

  • Great to hear from you. Do you have Discord? Or do you prefer another platform? Another thing: Please sign your messages by adding four tildes (~) at the end of your comment. That way the wiki will automatically produce a standard signature. CanePlayz Jedi symbol (Talk) 21:46, 5 June 2022 (UTC)
    • Okay, I think communicating here isn't the best way but it's fine and I respect that. I started off adding grid coordinates by looking at the Timelines map column by column, to make sure I'm not missing new grid info that hasn't been added to articles yet. But since that has been done now, I think we can just continue doing it letter by letter. Might I also request keeping conversations on just one talk page so that they're in one place? CanePlayz Jedi symbol (Talk) 23:42, 5 June 2022 (UTC)
      • Good, feel free to message me anytime you have questions or problems, I'll also keep you updated with what I'm doing. I'm also trying to potentially find a way of finally making that list complete - at least in regard to all of the planets in the Wook - but I doubt there's an easier way then backtracking and checking everything in Category:Planets and checking the appearance lists of new media. CanePlayz Jedi symbol (Talk) 00:09, 6 June 2022 (UTC)
        • Okay, so someone just told me that not all of the new grid coordinates from the Timelines map are in the wiki yet. I'd suggest always looking up if the planet is included in the Timelines map via the appearances list before adding "Unknown." Does that make sense? CanePlayz Jedi symbol (Talk) 01:06, 6 June 2022 (UTC)
          • Great work, however, there are two more things:
            1. I think we should always use the Timelines book as a source over any other source if available. That pushes towards the goal of having as few references as possible as noted in the Layout Guide. I'd especially recommend Timelines over TFABG, since that while being canon was a weird copy of a Legends map that mentioned a ton of astronomical objects that had yet to appear in canon. However, it's ultimately up to you, I'll substitute the TFABG refs with Timelines refs whenever possible.
            2. Is there a system behind your checking for planets that are missing from the List of planets? If so, I could adapt and complement it. CanePlayz Jedi symbol (Talk) 06:55, 7 June 2022 (UTC)

Planets

Hello! Hmm personally I'm not sure, seems like it might be in need of a larger discussion, either on the list of planets talk page or via a post in the Forum:Senate Hall Lewisr (talk) 03:03, 19 June 2022 (UTC)

  • Echoing Lewisr, in the future please wait for some kind of community consensus before making a move like this. In this recent forum thread, the community was against splitting up a list of planets into multiple pages. Also, I'd like to point out that the move has left a considerable number of reference errors on the new planet pages. Please make sure you fix them as soon as possible. Thank you.
