Regarding Starfighter Flight

Hey there, just a quick question. Why was the article tagged as fanon? It's actually mentioned in the Krytos Trap novel. --ToRsO bOy 17:07, 19 March 2008 (UTC)

  • I've read that novel a number of times and can't seem to remember "Starfighter Flight" being the designation for the mercenary-flown TIE Fighters that had been defending that atstion. Wedge seems to use the term generically, when he calls up their leader and offers terms for surrender. Sorry about the fanon tag...couldn't think of a better one at the time.--Goodwood 20px (Alliance Intelligence) 21:00, 19 March 2008 (UTC)
  • Can't recall seeing him use that on the other novels but there's tons I haven't read yet. It's on page 56 if you're interested. Anyway no problem, just thought I'd clarify the fanon thing. --ToRsO bOy 03:15, 20 March 2008 (UTC)

Jolee Bindo

  • Would you mind checking on the latest edits to the article? I don't have the firsthand knowledge of the topic that you do, but I smell a rat. Thanks. Atarumaster88 20px (Talk page) 23:44, 20 March 2008 (UTC)
    • Did a review of the changes since Redemption last edited it (that seems to be where the trouble starts) and what has been done seems to be a case of taking one turd and replacing it with another. I'll do a rollback but the article itself still needs massive cleanup (the rollback will help ID the garbage). Thanks for the heads-up.--Goodwood 20px (Alliance Intelligence) 00:43, 21 March 2008 (UTC)

Taris

Got your message. Improving Taris sounds like a good idea, I'll get to work on it as soon as I can. For example, there's a link to a Databank entry on Revan, which is non-existant.--Jedi Kasra 03:55, 2 April 2008 (UTC)

Scoop!

Hey, Goodwood. I don't know if you read the KotOR comics, most notably the "Vector" storyline. (Which I highly recommend) Anyway, I thought you should know this so the team can create/modify articles as needed. Hers's the link:

Please pass it on!--Jedi Kasra 18:45, 3 April 2008 (UTC)

  • Err, I don't see a preview there mate, sorry...it's just a banner ad and some links. Besides, comics really aren't my bag insofar as entertainment goes...prefer novels or good video games. But yeah, create as needed.--Goodwood 20px (Alliance Intelligence) 19:42, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
  • Whoops! I must have typed the link incorrectly. I fixed the link so it will take you the preview.--Jedi Kasra 00:33, 4 April 2008 (UTC)

Re: Hey There

Figures Firefox decides to freeze and then I hafta restart while I was typing... >.<;

Anywho, I've done some ship designing here and there over the years, but nothing majour as I'm more comfortable with designing organics than I am with mechanics. The most recent ship design I've done was for a comic jam on another forum. Another member had created a ship roughly the size of the Blockade Runner, but they designed it to starfighter scale. So, when it came to be my turn to draw the ship, I took some creative liberties and heavily modified it. Currently, the only images I have of it are collected onto a reference sheet comprised of my initial design sketch, panel images, and then a couple more design sketches. Turtleneck reference sheet. Not the greatest ship design out there, but an improvement over its creator's origonal design. Trak Nar 05:48, 9 April 2008 (UTC)

  • Heh, hate when that happens.

It looks like a pretty good drawing, nice and fluid; don't sell yourself short, you're more than capable of doing more mechanically-oriented art. I know a chap in England who specializes in drawing out photographs with pencils only and he does well with the human form as well as with aircraft. BTW, would it be inappropriate to say that I loved the B&W drawing of a Twi'lek you did? :-D Goodwood 20px (Alliance Intelligence) 07:28, 9 April 2008 (UTC)

  • XD I figure'd that image would grab some attention. Eventually I'll get around to drawing another Twi'lek with strategically-placed lekku. Oh, 'fore I forget, here's the forum topic with the comic jam. The comic jam is basically an interactive comic, and yeah, my screenname on that forum is "Greedo the Quick." XDD Trak Nar 07:41, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
    • Interesting stuff, Trak...too bad I have neither a WACCOM tablet nor the freehand skills to make something like that (my specialty is more Photoshopping existing images, making texture maps or making other types of works like signature art). BTW, that splotchy green/beige Rodian picture you did...is he supposed to be half Rodian, half Human? Just curious...--Goodwood 20px (Alliance Intelligence) 08:00, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
    • One more thing...you say that you're color-blind, so therefore you work mostly in black-and-white. If you'll pardon the small ego-trip, I am pretty good at colorizing such works (the Photoshop filter "Remove White" works wonders for this sort of thing), so if you ever find yourself in need of a good colorist... ;) Goodwood 20px (Alliance Intelligence) 08:13, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
      • ^^ Working with pallets in Photoshop has been helping with the colourblindness (I have a dozen pallets saved for various characters), but I'll keep ya in mind. Colouring's kinda a pain sometimes, 'specially with comics. And yep, Trak's a half-breed. Here's his and Cami's old bios that I need to update. He started out as just a throw-away character from several years ago that I just decided to start using again. I expanded on his parentage after having a very odd dream. Trak Nar 08:17, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
        • Your work is truly amazing, ma'am. I hope you get to continue it...have you ever thought of writing a graphic novel with original characters, etc.?--Goodwood 20px (Alliance Intelligence) 11:47, 10 April 2008 (UTC)

Armour Categories

In future unless you have a source and a good reason to sub-categorise acticles like you did with heavy, light and medium armour's dont, also before making such a change it is customary to put it up for disscusion! ~ Awar 14:01, 11 April 2008 (UTC).

  • The categorization of most of the armor is self-sourcing, for instance the ones from the KotOR games. The armor suits in that game are sorted according to class, light, medium and heavy, requiring feats to wear and with their own bonuses and penalties. It seemed a logical place to start, at any rate.--Goodwood 20px (Alliance Intelligence) 18:17, 11 April 2008 (UTC)
    • But where are the sources that say that their medium, heavy or light as yet you have not shown any!
BTW games are not as canon as other sources such as the essential guide to technology etc. ~ Awar 15:14, 14 April 2008 (UTC).
      • I'm going by what's stated in the New Essential Guide to Weapons and Technology for the clonetrooper and stormtrooper armor articles. That book states that the former was pretty darn tough, but the latter sacrificed toughness for cheapness and utilitarianism. Besides, it's just a category, what are you worried about?--Goodwood 20px (Alliance Intelligence) 15:08, 14 April 2008 (UTC)
  • That dose not actual state their weight which is what classifies armour as heavy, light etc not their strength those to are totally different things that's like saying a 44 caliber round can be used in a 9mm caliber gun!
It's not about what I am worried about but whether it is correct. ~ Awar 15:14, 14 April 2008 (UTC).
  • Look mate, I'm not going to get edit-warry with you on this, but it's clear you don't really know what you're talking about any more than I do. We can either drop it, or both get blocked for 3RR violations. Your choice.--Goodwood 20px (Alliance Intelligence) 15:18, 14 April 2008 (UTC)
    • Look I am doing what I believe to be the right thing if I get blocked or banned as a result then I am fine with it but before that happens let me say this:
  1. Yes heavy light medium refers to an armours weight not their strength as far as I am aware.
  2. why are you so determined to say this ones heavy or this ones light when there is to my knowledge no conical evidence of this? if you can satisfy me with a proper answer then I will not interfere with the Subcategory edit again sound fair?! - Awar 15:28, 14 April 2008 (UTC).
      • The reason I'm doing these subcategories is to clean up the overall category and to properly catalog all the stuff that gets sorted. The Light, Medium and Heavy subcategories not only refer to weight but to strength and flexibility, among other factors; the "combat headgear" one should be obvious and "Armored Robes" are meant to be for armor that is used by Force-users. Besides, armor can't be "conical" because it isn't cone-shaped.--Goodwood 20px (Alliance Intelligence) 15:34, 14 April 2008 (UTC)
        • An armours strength is categorised by exactly that strength while weight is categorised by that eg heavy = weight, secondly while I appreciate you trying to clean up the main armor category page I feel that the clone & storm trooper armour articles should be kept to-gather either on the main page or in a clone armour and storm trooper armour subcategory as that would be more practical, as more armour variants get added to the site over time and would be easier to locate! ~ Awar 15:51, 14 April 2008 (UTC).
I am sorry for trouble I have caused you, but really such a change should really have been at least put up on their talk pages for a week or two so other members & visitors could voice their opinion on the possible change if they wish too. ~ Awar 15:51, 14 April 2008 (UTC).
  • Apology accepted. As a general rule I dislike going to talk pages for something this trivial. Hopefully we can both learn from this little incident.--Goodwood 20px (Alliance Intelligence) 15:53, 14 April 2008 (UTC)
    • I persume that if we created a military armour subcategory page that then listed Rebel alliance, new republic, old republic, Imperial armours would be allowed for the reasons stated above similar changes like that have been made else where such as the starfighter category page? ~ Awar 16:00, 14 April 2008 (UTC).
      • That would be going over-the-top, seeing as there aren't enough canonical armor types to distinguish between the factions.--Goodwood 20px (Alliance Intelligence) 16:02, 14 April 2008 (UTC)
        • I meant in the future when the clone and stormtrooper armour variants eventualy get posted! ~ Awar 16:18, 14 April 2008 (UTC).

Hey

Hey, Goodwood. I'm having errors with editing on Wookieepedia. I'm not going anywhere, but whoever is in charge has to get the kriffing bugs fixed first. I'll see if it works better at our local library. I'll see what I can do on Taris, though. Just thought I'd let you know.--Jedi Kasra 00:06, 16 April 2008 (UTC)

  • We've not heard any reports via the IRC channel, but I'll pass it along to the regulars and Admins. Since you seem to be the only other person interested in continuing KotOR-related articles, maybe you should start going for FAs yourself. I'd certainly be willing to help iron out the articles when you do nominate them.--Goodwood 20px (Alliance Intelligence) 00:12, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
    • Alright, well, I already told Ataru about it, you can see the details on here. And, I won't abandon this project. It's a good one, and worth having. I'm thinking of nominating Darth Malak, since, as far as I know, he's never been nominated. I've worked on his article, and I think he deserves a shot.--Jedi Kasra 00:22, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
      • As I said, go for it mate. The only reason why I'm not really doing anything for those two articles is that they have a lot of information that's presented in the KotOR comics as well as the games...and even if this one did like comics, it'd be a lot of work getting all that crap together. Heh.--Goodwood 20px (Alliance Intelligence) 00:25, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
  • Goodwood, I just nominated Malak's article as a good article. Could you please put up the template that lists the article as nominated? Thanks.--Jedi Kasra 07:00, 19 April 2008 (UTC)
  • I actually meant putting it on Malak's article, but I found it. Guess we need to start sourcing it. Do you know anybody else who knows anything about the comics besides myself? And I did edit the project page, by the way.--Jedi Kasra 21:32, 19 April 2008 (UTC)
  • My mistake. I know that Redemption has the comics, and he's generally good for research, etc. You should come onto the IRC and chat with him (us?) about it one of these days.--Goodwood 20px (Alliance Intelligence) 22:32, 19 April 2008 (UTC)

Thanks! =D

Thanks for the Wookiee Cookie! ^_^ I'm still grinning ear-to-ear. XD Trak Nar 04:21, 23 April 2008 (UTC)

Resolution to the Trash compator dispute

Re: Rodian Rambling

Actually, yeah, there's a coupla things I'm a lil stuck on at the moment with the article (aside from distractions, schedule, all that jazz. Gotta love ADHD)... What I'm thinking of doing is putting a "Main Article: Rodian Theatre" linkie-thingie in place of the current paragraph regarding theatre. Having a whole seperate article that says the same thing as a paragraph in the main Rodian article just seems redundant, and putting the bulk of the theatre information in the Theatre article will remedy that. I was gonna include the The Trickery of Vosdia Nooma in the Theatre article, use that to further describe the acting, writing, and dramatic style. What I'm sorta stuck on is at the moment, I only have my EGtAS and NEGtAS to reference from, along with that HoloNet News article about Trickery. Are there any other sources that provide a good, detailed description of Rodian Theatre?

Another thing that's tripping me up is the Rodians in the Galaxy section. It's very cut-and-dry, basic-explaination, name-listing stuff, and I'm not quite sure how to approach redoing that section. Twool's mention in there needs updated as he's now dead (Geez writers, how hard is it to keep Rodian Jedi alive?!), and I haven't been really keeping track of the NJO and Yuuzhan Vong War as it struck me as needlessly complicated, confusing, and I don't have the cash to buy books very often (damn finances...). So as for any new Rodians that need mentioned, I wouldn't know who to ask about that. So, I'm stuck on how to approach and tweak that section, aside from revisions to make it sound a lil less choppy. =/

And I dunno why I (or anyone) has never noticed or mentioned it before, but I'd hazard a pretty good guess that the whole idea to name 'em "Rodians" is derived from Rhodes. I'm just not sure if that should be mentioned in the BtS section or not. Trak Nar Ramble on 03:28, 2 May 2008 (UTC)

Karness Muur

Hey, Goodwood, according to this preview, on the third page of it, it says that Pointy-eared man is Karness Muur. I'll edit accordingly.--Jedi Kasra 00:26, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

KotOR project

Hi Goodwood. Jedi Kasra has asked me if I wanted to join this project and said you were the guy to talk to, is it posible for me to join. - KAJ Talk 17:32, 5 May 2008 (UTC)

  • Sure you can join the project—and please in turn tell Kasra that people don't have to ask to join, they can sign up and do the work themselves. ;-) Though of course it is always good advice to appraise the rest of the members of any large undertakings or any questions you may have. Welcome abaord!

New members

Hey, Goodwood. As you can see, I invited KAJ and Drewton to join the KotOR WookieeProject. I wasn't sure if either of them was aware of this project, so since both of them know a lot about KotOR, I decided why not? Can you take a look at the Darth Malak article? Drewton and I did some work, and I think it looks a lot better than it did.--Jedi Kasra 22:25, 5 May 2008 (UTC)

  • Sure, I'll take a look at it either today or tomorrow.--Goodwood 20px (Alliance Intelligence) 22:27, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
  • Hey, Goodwood, what'd you think of the work we've done on the Darth Malak article?--Jedi Kasra 01:02, 9 May 2008 (UTC)

Mistaken rollback

Hey, I just now realized that I had hit the rollback button on the TJA article. I meant to just undo your last edit that removed those sentences. I see you made another change, but I haven't looked at it. At any rate, my bad, and we'll discuss this thing tomorrow. Toprawa and Ralltiir 07:37, 8 May 2008 (UTC)

KotOR Wookieeproject

Hey Goodwood i'm sorry that i don't do much with the project but i still want to be a part of it i don't get good internet service where i live but i use my friend Jedi Kasra's computer now and then so i will try to be more active okeydokey? Thanks for understanding.--Zhran 04:24, 10 May 2008 (UTC)

  • There's nothing to be sorry about, mate, just do what you can.--Goodwood 20px (Alliance Intelligence) 04:26, 10 May 2008 (UTC)
  • thanks man. i'll do what i can then.--Zhran 04:42, 10 May 2008 (UTC)

Re: Darth Malak's GAN

Thanks for the advice. I'll probably wait 'til after the Knights of the Old Republic Campaign Guide comes out and we can get some info on Malak from that before I nominate it again. I just don't understand the objections. How is the article still barely sourced? Just about every paragraph has at least one source in it. And it's a mess? How? Yes, I could expand the "Powers and abilities" section like Redemption did with Raana Tey, but I can only do so much. Anyway, thanks again.--Jedi Kasra 03:13, 12 May 2008 (UTC)

Sourcing articles

If it's O.K. with you Goodwood, I'd like to start a topic on sourcing more KotOR articles in the discussion area for the project page. By the way, is Taris a featured article yet?--Jedi Kasra 01:10, 13 May 2008 (UTC)

  • Taris is still a good article; it failed the last FAN attempt. In all honesty mate, you should come onto IRC and talk to the folks there about sourcing, to get a better idea how to do it and what needs sourcing.--Goodwood 20px (Alliance Intelligence) 01:13, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
  • I'd like to, but I've only got a dial-up connection, and the IRC needs a faster Internet connection, I believe.--Jedi Kasra 20:10, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
    • IRC is just a chat program, it doesn't need a "faster connection". If you use Firefox, get ChatZilla, otherwise use the gateway at WP:IRC.--Goodwood 20px (Alliance Intelligence) 20:13, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
  • Don't worry, man. I'm not going anywhere. I just had to go to somebody's house. I don't even know what the big deal was about muting me, I could still talk.--Jedi Kasra 02:07, 14 May 2008 (UTC)

Thanks

Thanks for expandng my article on Ettal Howrider

Re: Assistance requested

Hey, Goodwood. Here's the coding that you'll need to create the columns that you want:

{| style="width: 100%"
| style="vertical-align: top"|
*[[Topic One]]
*[[Topic Two]]
*[[Topic Three]]
| style="vertical-align: top"|
*[[Topic Four]]
*[[Topic Five]]
*[[Topic Six]]
|}

…and so forth, adding | style="vertical-align: top"| to start a new column. There's various examples around the site, but you can see various uses of it on my Collection subpage, where you can see what different columns, etc, look like. Cheers, Greyman@wikia(Talk) 01:42, 22 May 2008 (UTC)

New KotOR WookieeProject member

Talk:Darth Krayt

Why did you undo my undo on Talk:Darth Krayt? User:AdmirableAckbar did the same thing earlier, as did others when User:JediBob put that section up previously. Grand Moff Tranner 20px (Comlink) 21:00, 25 May 2008 (UTC)

  • As it stands, his addition was a legitimate edit to a talk page, and undoing it is conaidered vandalism under our page-blanking policy; talk pages are meant to be matters of record. Such actions are only to be used in the case of obvious spam or personal attacks.--Goodwood 20px (Alliance Intelligence) 22:22, 25 May 2008 (UTC)

Mon Dacamari

Pardon me, but per which CT? —Silly Dan (talk) 02:28, 26 May 2008 (UTC)

  • Yeah. Additionally, you don't move a page by blanking it and pasting the information on the desired page name. You have someone move it via the "move" option at the top of the page next to "history". Copying and pasting doesn't move the edit history included. -- SFH 02:52, 26 May 2008 (UTC)
    • Fair enough. The reason for the original move is that it's now pretty clear that Dac is to be preferred over Mon Calamari for the planet's name. Star Wars: Legacy is full of examples. Insofar as the way I moved it, yeah, it probably wasn't the smartest way, but no one on IRC paid any attention to my efforts to figure out why the move function was disabled for that page. My apologies for the disturbance.--Goodwood 20px (Alliance Intelligence) 02:55, 26 May 2008 (UTC)
  • Although I don't read the Legacy comics, from what I'm given to understand, Mon Calamari/Dac is under Sith occupation governed by a Quarren collaborationist government in the Legacy comics. Not exactly the most unbiased of sources. -- SFH 03:02, 26 May 2008 (UTC)
  • Since your first edit was a couple of months after the original discussion, here's some links. The original discussion for the move was here, though it predates any new information given in the Legacy comics. If Mon

Calamari is used along with Dac in Legacy #22, Mon Calamari (planet) should probably remain the article title based on the "most commonly known name" rule. If, on the other hand, everyone calls it Dac, we might go by the "later names preferred to earlier names" rule. A CT might be helpful in this case. —Silly Dan (talk) 10:58, 26 May 2008 (UTC)

    • Actually, it was Trip who suggested the move. He told me on IRC that Rawk refers to the planet as Dac.--Goodwood 20px (Alliance Intelligence) 13:11, 26 May 2008 (UTC)
      • With Darth Culator moving it back to Dac, I guess that's three people who agree on this. A CT's probably not needed then. Cheers, —Silly Dan (talk) 21:49, 26 May 2008 (UTC)

Hey.

Do you really piss off the ops on this site? If you do, you better reconsider before it gets their attention.

Hey, Goodwood...

My dad pulled the Internet out at my place because we can't afford it, but I live close by the library. (I'm actually here right now) So I won't contribute as much, but I'll see if I can come by every other day, save Mondays and weekends, cause I go to church on Saturday and the library's closed on Sundays and Mondays. When I'm there, I'll contirbute as much as I can. Just wanted to let you know.--Jedi Kasra (talk) 19:19, 12 June 2008 (UTC)

  • Fair enough. I'd just like to note here for your convenience my continued disapproval of the Duel on the Star Forge article; this has become something of a headache and, to be frank, an embarrassment to the project. The opinions of most of the senior editors who have voted on that TC are on my side, and to whit I gave good and sound reasons for the other duel articles mentioned to be separate. The Duel on the Star Forge was not separate from the Battle of Rakata Prime, but was the climax of it. Neither of the other duels mentioned were the climaxes of either battle they took place alongside.--Goodwood 20px (Alliance Intelligence) 19:35, 12 June 2008 (UTC)
  • OK. No problem. Just let me know when it will be merged.--Jedi Kasra (talk) 19:52, 12 June 2008 (UTC)

Dialogue: Let's have some

So, uh, you want to talk about your objection. I stand by what I said earlier: it has nothing whatsoever to do with the unit itself. It's absolutely irrelevant. There's nothing to add that will be at all necessary to the article. Create the impostor unit article and write to your heart's content there, but it absolutely does not belong in an article that's not about the impostor unit; it's about the real one, a distinction you seem to be missing. I don't know how much more plainly I can explain that. Do we need a paragraph in Leia's article about the Leia impersonator in Betrayal? No. We mention that Leia was famous enough that she had impersonators, but for the love of God, we don't detail that person's life. Havac 13 June 2008 (UTC)

  • I would be delighted just to see a sentence with links to the battles in which the false 181ar participated in, where the New Republic and Wedge mistook them for the real unit. That's not too much to ask, is it?--Goodwood 20px (Alliance Intelligence) 12:26, 13 June 2008 (UTC)
    • Why do we need links to battles that the 181st never fought in? This is the same reason that the members section doesn't cover anything other than the parts of the members' careers that are relevant to the unit: this is the article for the 181st. It's not about anything other than the 181st. It's not about The Adventures of the Fake 181st. How do you propose this sentence be inserted? What relevance in hell would it have to the 181st? What of importance about the 181st would it tell the reader that the article does not tell already? I'm afraid I just can't buy into this objection. You seem to have this article confused with one about the 181st impostor unit, and are demanding that it cover both. It doesn't. Havac 22:30, 14 June 2008 (UTC)
