Hello again

  • Hello again Gonk, unfortunately I am no relation to Billy Ocean, merely a librarian from the North of England. Are you a real Gonk droid??? Darth Ocean 21.23, 18 February 2007 (GMT)

Comm Slicker

  • Lol. I was confused by your comment at first, when you referred to "reverting" your edit. I had put the picture there back in June of last year and forgotten about it. I then saw it on the unsed images gallery and tried to find a place for it. It was a complete co-incidence that I put it back there 10 days after you'd removed it! I have no objection to the image being moved elsewhere. Good spotting on the inaccuracy. --Eyrezer 01:26, 3 March 2007 (UTC)

Webstrip

In a while, I'll list the characters I want you to nut out the designs for. It would be good if you were in contact with Solus, our artist, so you can kinda keep a bit of continuity. .... 20:48, 6 March 2007 (UTC)

Concept listings:

Solus – Solus. The guy he's been using as an example.

Four Dot – Me. Now…this one may be difficult….it’s several elements. A) This hairstyle, but with red hair (we’ll talk about colour later) [1] B) A facial expression that looks really grumpy yet sinister most of the time, but when I look, I have a real goofy look on my face. C) Flowing Sith robes. I’m sure you know what they look like. D) Four blue glowing dots on my chest, in a horizontal line. That’s…pretty much it.

Sikon: File:Linuxfox.png

LtNOWIS: An Imperial officer with sunglasses.

Sarlacc Pit 48: A humanoid Sarlacc. Do your best.

Cull Tremayne: File:CTr.jpg. But allow him to have facial expressions.

Bis 6: Come up with whatever.

Darth Culator: He used to have an image of himself on his userpage. Pester him for it.

Jaymach: The four armed guy on his userpage. .... 21:17, 6 March 2007 (UTC)

  • Here's Culator: hXXp://members. cox.net/darth_culator/evilsmall2.png .... 02:43, 7 March 2007 (UTC)
    • Actually, about my own rendering...just use what you had, but give me a human body with black robes. Keep the sig head. I rather like it now. .... 03:04, 7 March 2007 (UTC)

Good news

Hey, Gonk, you left moments before I made a discovery! Turns out when I looked for that one file at the beginning, I looked for just EXE files, not XwingAlliance files. Now it's working again. Thanks for the help! JorrelWiki-shrinkableFraajic 17:10, 31 March 2007 (UTC)

I normally never do this but ... I'm wondering if I might persuade you to vote on a particular QotD. This Penny Arcade quote/dialogue is perfect for a QotD and I really would like to see it make it to queue. Even if you don't vote, thanks for considering it. *waves fingers* You will vote for this quote. - JMAS 14:28, 12 April 2007 (UTC)

Jade Moon/Carosi

  • I think the moon simply belongs to Loronar Corporation, not actually orbits Loronar the planet. It is the Essential Guide to Planets and Moons (and, IIRC, Planet of Twilight) which indicated Loronar had a major facility of this nature on the moon of Carosi XII, which I think the Jade Moon was meant to be. You might want to check with Leland to make sure they are the same. Since it is simply called "the" [not "a"] moon of Carosi, I am pretty sure it is the sole moon.JustinGann 06:25, 6 May 2007 (UTC)

Zayne Carrick

Can you check if your objection to Zayne on the Inq page is still outstanding? I think I have resolved it, and if so, a supporting vote would be good. :) --Eyrezer 01:39, 18 May 2007 (UTC)

  • Gonk, I'm pretty sure the punctuation is meant to go outside of the quotation marks if the quotation is only part of the sentence, or only one word. You've just changed back some of the ones I changed. --Eyrezer 03:52, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
    • Ah :o) Do you know what one of the very few exceptions are? British English! Which is, of course, what I use, but not what the Wookieepedia uses. I didn't realise the American system even differed in its punctuation, but trusty Wikipedia explained it to me. --Eyrezer 01:35, 20 May 2007 (UTC)

Stump the Wookiee

I noticed you removed the question on the Stump the Wookiee page about the planet where the Jedi originated. I'm curious what you meant by "not definite enough", and if there might be a better way to phrase it so as to make it more definite. - Lord Hydronium 20:24, 22 May 2007 (UTC)

Dark Forces Saga cheats

Alright, I figure I ought to ask: why the heck did you remove all the cheat codes from the Dark Forces/Jedi Knight series? Is there some new MoS change I was not informed of? Because if there was not, a lot of people worked hard to assemble those lists, myself included. Din's Fire 997 20:18, 15 July 2007 (UTC)

  • Many reasons. 1) It's not necessary; that's what sites like IGN and GameSpot (to which we link on most video game articles) are for. 2) It's not encyclopedic. 2.5) Wikipedia doesn't do it for their video game articles either. See also WP:NOT. 3) SWGames Wiki is much better suited to that sort of thing; you can certainly save your work by taking the codes out of the pages' histories and transferring them to the Games wiki if you like. There is no official MoS change at this time, though I did make sure to get others' opinions in IRC and it seemed to everyone to be the logical thing to do. Gonk (Gonk!) 13:29, 17 July 2007 (UTC)
    • Removing content for removing content's sake strikes me as kind of pointless, and having a cheats section doesn't strike me as unencylopedic, but I'll agree with you on the SWGames part. If people want them out, they're out, no hard feelings.
What I openly Denounce, however, is claiming support on IRC as validation. Some people don't have access to IRC, or choose not to: if you're going to change policy go ahead, but do so where Anyone can track it, like Senate/Consensus Hall.
In any case, thank you for explaining.Din's Fire 997 22:29, 17 July 2007 (UTC)
      • Like he said, there *wasn't* a policy change; he merely went to IRC to confirm he was interpreting the existing WP:NOT policy properly. IRC is absolutely the place to go to get that sort of quick informal backing from other editors. jSarek 00:37, 18 July 2007 (UTC)
        • Gonk wasn't making it up about asking about it on IRC – I was there when he proposed it, and I was one of several users present who supported it. Cheers, Greyman(Paratus) 00:42, 18 July 2007 (UTC)
        • As jSarek said, there is no policy change, just a tighter interpretation of sections 1.3 and 1.5 of WP:NOT. -- Darth Culator (Talk) 01:05, 18 July 2007 (UTC)

How do I verify that Ak-Buz was in the Multi-player version of Jedi Outcast? -penguingeneral

  • Oh, okay, I just saw that they had that info for Beedo, and thought it was considered appropriate, my mistake.

Alphabetizing

I only alphabetized some of the lists because they seemed like the main parts of the article which were disorganized. The Points of Interest section of the Kashyyyk article was a mess. You have to admit that alphabetizing those vastly improved it. Snakewing2000 00:24, 30 July 2007 (UTC)

FA Objections

  • Do not ever strike an objection that is not yours unless it is A) left by a member who has been absent for over two weeks and the objection has been satisfied or B) It is not a rules based objection. None of the objections you struck fall into that category and I can clarify to show which rules they fall under. You should know better. Wing Commander article

Hey there. I noticed you were the one who deleted the Wing Commander article and the reason was that it was unverified. I started a new article at Wing commander and sourced it. I didn't know if there was any relevant discussion from before the page was deleted that may point to some other information even for the behind the scenes or any other usage of the rank or if it might point to a reason it should be at the capitalized name where it was before instead. Let me know if you know there was any talk on the subject. Thanks! Wildyoda 05:45, 25 August 2007 (UTC)

Unjust

I'm Chockys, and I would to say that my 24 hours of "no editing" was unjust. Reason: I didn't know that the information about that Cynthia Watros played Guri in the Star Wars Customizable Card Game was considered "fanon", I simply though that you don't know this data and I added. Other thing: I didn't know to add a data it is necessary to add a source about of this data too (this I don't know to do it). I think your rules are some excesive. In the IMDb, if an user add a data and later it discovers this data is false o erroneous other user replaces the false data by the true data, no more. The IMDb administrators never send warnings and they never prohibit edit along "24 hours" (or any other time). I try to say that I'm feel strange by your roughness, and I try to say too that my "24 hours" was a excesive measure. I ask to you that it "third warning" (or that you want to call it) be canceled, retired...or that you want to call it. I not broke the rules intentionally. I'm sorry. Even so, can you canceled this "third warning"? - Chockys 17:53, 2 September 2007

Contributing

I noticed that there isn't very much stuff to do here (as in editing articles), and I was wondering if there is anything that I can do (beside editing my userpage)? I would love to contribute here, but I don't know what I can do here that hasn't already been done. LethalReflex 01:57, 4 September 2007 (UTC)

RE:Trolling

You can't be serious! Describe to me how that qualifies as trolling or being argumentative for the sake of argument! That comment was a legitimate concern! I can't change my vote, or the policy is that much more likely to pass. Which means that everybody on both sides have to trust their opponents to also try to reach a compromise in stead of taking advantage of the sudden changes in vote. It is a political fallmine, which destroyes the attempted democracy of this site. I just wanted to condemn the inane premises that CT took, which robbed me and everyone else of our chances to vote for a real improvement of policy, in fear of the other side winning because of it. Excuse me for pointing that out to the masses, in the hope of convincing people that a brand new CT with real policy amendment options is called for. Not only does your warning smell of serious abuse of powers, it doesn't even make any sense! There was no one to start an argument with in the first place, the comment definetly had a place there, and didn't target anyone except possibly Ozzel. I'm tempted to take this to the Admin Noticeboard, but I am going to assume good faith, that you have a legitimate reason for this warning, considering how I AFAIK have done nothing wrong. Explain yourself, cause right now I get the feeling you are acting rashly and without thinking. DarthMRN 20:35, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
