Hello, GoldenOath20, and welcome to Wookieepedia! We hope you like the place and choose to join us in building the best Star Wars encyclopedia there is. Here are some things you should know:
New to wikis? Don't worry, we were all new once. Our help pages will get you started, and the Jundland Wastes sandbox can be used for test edits. Don't be afraid to make mistakes—be bold! I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wookieepedian! If you have any questions, you can consult our FAQ, ask a question in the Senate Hall forum, visit our official IRC channel, or leave me a message on my talk page. |
Warning
Thank you for contributing to Wookieepedia! Please note that at least one of your recent additions added unverified information to a mainspace article. Additions to Wookieepedia's articles must be verifiable by a reliable source per our sourcing policy, and unverified information may be reverted or deleted. Continuing to add unverified information may lead to you being blocked from editing by an administrator. Thank you. --DarthRuiz30 (talk) 06:03, February 3, 2020 (UTC)
- Everything, you need to add an official source where the information that you added can be found.--DarthRuiz30 (talk) 06:11, February 3, 2020 (UTC)
- Wookieepedia shouldn't be used as a source. That's why we encourage people to use sources, so they can verify if the information is correct. There's has been cases where articles have been incorrect and then it gets added to another one.--DarthRuiz30 (talk) 06:27, February 3, 2020 (UTC)
- I don't know, that's why sourcing is important. You should add information that you are able to verify, not just to add information found on other articles--DarthRuiz30 (talk) 07:41, February 3, 2020 (UTC)
- The important thing here, is that you need to source your edits as I told you before. Doesn't matter if the information on other pages is right or wrong. You should be able to verify the information that you're adding. I linked in my first meesage our sourcing policy, read it and if you want re-add the information after you verify it, just remember to source it.--DarthRuiz30 (talk) 07:57, February 3, 2020 (UTC)
- You shouldn't be copy pasting information, that's also against our policy. The point is yes to add a reference, but also that you should be able to verify the information. Its not good to us for people to be adding blindly information on other pages into another. We have the same case here.--DarthRuiz30 (talk) 08:08, February 3, 2020 (UTC)
- I never said it doesn't matter if the information is true or not, lying about the reference is falsifying sources and a blockable offense. It can be used as long you know the information is really there, otherwise you're not helping anyone by adding unverified information.--DarthRuiz30 (talk) 08:20, February 3, 2020 (UTC)
- Do you have the source used by the references?--DarthRuiz30 (talk) 08:35, February 3, 2020 (UTC)

Since right now you told me you don't have the source and that you need to look it up, then that means that you shouldn't be adding information using that source. You can ask another user with the book to help you or you can wait until you have it so you can personally verify the information.
As an advice just remember that Wookieepedia can't be used as a source for another article, doesn't matter if its sourced. You need to be able to verify the information--DarthRuiz30 (talk) 09:05, February 3, 2020 (UTC)
- Well, that message ended everything. Its no one job to verify information, you should be able to verify the information you're adding, otherwise you're adding unverified information. So I tried to be nice, but this a warning. You add that information you're getting blocked, since now I know that you don't have that book. Have a nice day.--DarthRuiz30 (talk) 09:36, February 3, 2020 (UTC)
