User page help

Hi! Here's some tips on how to make your user page cooler, I hope these will help you get started :)

  • You can add infobox by copying and pasting the infobox code from here to your user page. Then just fill away all the relevant fields; if you don't want some of the fields to show, just leave them blank. The template page has pretty good instructions on how to use it.
  • You can use pretty much any image for the infobox you can find here, or upload one of your own if you like. If you choose to do the latter, remember to include the User-image template into the image description page. If the image is more than 250 px wide (which is the default infobox width), the image field should look like this:
|image=[[Filename.jpg|250px]]
  • There's a field for userboxes in the infobox as well. You can add as many or as few as you like, or not at all (like I've chosen to do, I have my userboxes grouped at the bottom of my page, pretty much the same way you currently have).
  • You can change the color of your user infobox by adding different HTML color codes to the c1, c2 and c3 fields; see here for example for some of the colors you can use. You can also google "html color codes" to find more.
  • If you find something nifty on some other user's page and would like to know how it is done, just click the edit button to see the source code; but make sure that you don't actually edit the page, editing other users' pages is considered somewhat rude. :)

I hope all that made sense, I'm not all that good at explaining things... Not clearly and concisely, at least. ;) If you're worried about messing up your user page, you can always test some of these tips first at the Jundland Wastes sandbox. Happy editing, be BOLD!
