Endor Moon Hoax

Do you have a source for the Endor Moon Hoax article you started? The only one currently listed doesn't actually use the term. Thanks,— Silly Dan 01:55, 22 January 2006 (UTC)

I inferred the Endor Moon Hoax from a reference in the Galactic Phrase Book and Travel Guide. It doesn't explicitly connect the two events - the Hoax and the "Endor Holocaust" - but it seems like a logical connection to me. Cutch 22:14, 22 January 2006 (UTC)

  • I'm still confused: does it say Q3 exposed a hoax about Endor, but doesn't say what sort of hoax it was? Or does it say that he exposed the Imperial propaganda about the extinction of the Ewoks, and you gave that event a conjectural title? (There is another possible "Endor Hoax"— see Ante-Endor Association.) — Silly Dan 22:28, 22 January 2006 (UTC)
    • Here's the direct quote: "He fought the Kinkees with Captain Gordun during the Aerial Plankton Uprising, and was instrumental in exposing the Endor Moon Hoax." That's pretty much the extent of it. Do what you see fit with the article, I won't object.
      • Interesting. I'm not sure what this means for the article, though...perhaps we have to vague it up a bit. — Silly Dan 22:32, 22 January 2006 (UTC)
        • Aight.

Television productions

I've noticed recently that you have worked on some of the Ewoks and Droids series articles. Yesterday, I created basic pages for all of the episodes. I thought you might be interested in helping me flesh these articles out and organize them in a consistant way. I've already organized the categories correctly, so everything can be easily located from Category:Animated television series. Let me know what you think. :) Adamwankenobi 01:55, 19 March 2006 (UTC)

Maul again!

  • You are welcome. Do you have an idea for a better title in Maul's page? As i said that is likely a different Maul, so maybe we should use sth like "Possible Resurrection" / "Return from the dead" / "Darth Maul the Second?" etc stuff XD? Between add Tasty Taste's blog into Source would help convincing readers. Darth Kevinmhk 06:19, 4 May 2006 (UTC)

    • Gd Night. 14:21 in Hong Kong lol. Darth Kevinmhk 06:23, 4 May 2006 (UTC)
      • It was released in Infinities and in the era in which most Tales were non-canon. It is not referenced by higher sources, so best just leave it to behind the scenes. It also contradicts already established facts in the continuity. Until referrenced in a more official source it is not canon. The story was written for the fans who were dying to know who was better, it was never intended to be included and author didn't intend for it to be canon, and with the errors Tasty Taste had already made on the page, it is more than likely that he is mistaken, especially when he also refers to other infinities stories that he has contrasted it to. Best if all tags were removed and leave it in Behind the Scenes until I get confirmation back from him DarthMalus 17:45, 4 May 2006 (UTC)
        • Two words: Leland Chee. Cutch 17:49, 4 May 2006 (UTC)
          • He's been wrong before and has slipped up in including infinities into timeline, then corrects his mistake. Granted most of the time he's right, but I doubt this is one of them. such as this reference of Vader vs Maul is stated to be non canon:

"In order to allow unlimited freedom of storytelling, the Infinities label has been placed on the anthology series, Star Wars Tales. This means that not only can the stories occur anywhere in the Star Wars timeline, but stories can happen outside continuity. Basically, if an event happens in Tales, it may not have necessarily happened in the rest of the expanded universe. For some stories, the distinction is largely inconsequential. For others, it's the only way they could exist (for example, there's a Darth Vader vs. Darth Maul comic coming soon)." So I say wait a little until it is actually incorporated in another source. Excellent maintenance though. You work quick :)...it's an honor to have you here. DarthMalus 18:03, 4 May 2006 (UTC) Well had my Hyperspace membership not expired I would love to. Sometime if your lucky you can find someone with e-mail addresses to contact, but I've sent many and received no reply, but oh well. But if it's canon, then it's canon, and I mean you're probably correct, but to make me 100% sure, I wait for it to be in the databank, but if you feel we should incorporate it, then i guess do so. I think one of the admins have contact with him but I'm not sure. Dude that guy has pretty much the best job in the world. I support many of his descisions, like him pushing for the Exile to be female, though that may not happen, and I was hoping for Revan and the Exile to get married and their descendant be Shmi Skywalker, but alas I can only hope:)...but at least if this turns out to be 100% canon, then at least the picked the most likely of the resurrection stories, though I admit I was sorta bummed that the Visionaries one is considered infinities, because frankly Maul looked awesome like that. Founding of Fort Tusken

  • Hi. Was Fort Tusken founded in 98 BBY for sure? The article just says circa 100 BBY. Jaywin 17:12, 15 May 2006 (UTC)
  • Oy. Looks like a hardcore date discrerpancy on our hands... take a look at 95 BBY, 98 BBY, and 100 BBY. My sources came from trying to reconcile other articles (ie Sandpeople and Fort Tusken), so... founded in 100, attacks begin in 98, abandoned in 95? Or everything placed at 100? Nemoidus / Nemonus

You created the article titled Nemoidus - in my version of the book (UK paperback) he is referred to as Nemonus. Did you make a mistake or are there different names in different versions?

  • I based it off the Kit Fisto article, and haven't heard anything otherwise... I don't have the book myself. I wish we could find out if there are two different versions, maybe you could find someone else who has written some Cestus Deception based articles. Cutch 16:29, 16 May 2006 (UTC)

Hi. I recently noticed your frustration with several users who 'flood' recent changes with their numerous user page edits, and wanted to point out another option for viewing recent changes – see m:Help:Enhanced recent changes. Instead of listing all edits in order, the enhanced page nests them, saving space. It takes a little getting used to, but once you've used it for a while there's no going back. :) RMF 20:38, 20 June 2006 (UTC)

Hysalrians, Critokians, et all.

C'mon, they were aliens made up by four year olds for a contest. Leland Chee said that these aliens were canon until they contradicted other sources. To my knowledge, Dagobah and Yavin 4 have always been bereft of inhabitants in canon.

  • Sorry, man, no dice. We've discussed this. Cutch 19:45, 12 July 2006 (UTC)
    • Then what of the other sources saying that Dagobah and Yavin 4 have no native sentient inhabitants?
      • If you can source them, then we'll try to sort this all out. And please timestamp your posts. Cutch 17:02, 13 July 2006 (UTC)
        • Are you shitting me? The Essential Guide to Planets and Moons. The Illustrated Star Wars Universe. Geonosis and the Outer Rim Worlds. The Official Site Databank. Pretty much every source that involves Yavin 4 or Dagobah.
          • Then let's take this to the "Design an Alien" talk page. I think you're barking up the wrong tree—not listing sentient species is different than coming out and saying "There are no sentient species"—but we'll get some other people's input, okay? Cutch 17:09, 14 July 2006 (UTC)

Reverted edit on Palpatine article

Hello, I would just like to know why my edit on the Palpatine article was reverted.--Stardust6000 15:44, 4 October 2006 (UTC)

  • Just because one didn't kill the other doesn't mean the fight was a draw. Yoda failed to accomplish his goals; Sidious didn't, as his goal was not so much to kill Yoda but as to not lose. And Yoda even says as much himself. Quoted from the RotS screensplay:

YODA: Into exile I must go. Failed, I have. Cutch 15:50, 4 October 2006 (UTC)

How incredibly rude, get over what. Maybe you need to get over the fact that Sidious did not defeat Yoda in battle. Their battle was a draw regardless of how you or anyone else tries to twist it. This is not the behavior I would have expected from an established editor.--Stardust6000 23:00, 4 October 2006 (UTC)

  • It's just that the Sidious article has been very well-thought out, worded, and maintained by many editors, and it seems selfish to change it to suit your own agenda—especially without having read the relevant discussion on the talk page. Cutch 04:55, 5 October 2006 (UTC)

lightsaber article

Hey Cutch, I see you reverted the insertion of Anakin/Vader as having wielded a dual-phased saber. What is your source on that? Son of NilsTalk 05:37, 19 October 2006 (UTC)

  • You're right in that it has a length adjustment knob; however, given the context in which it was used (see Splinter of the Mind's Eye) it looks like it was used for reducing the blade lengfth/strength, not doubling it. The dual-phase saber as used by Exar Kun and Gantoris (under Kun's tutelage) was designed for surprise tactics in combat, as illustrated during Gantoris' challenge to Luke (see Dark Apprentice). If I'm missing something, please let me know. Son of NilsTalk 12:31, 22 October 2006 (UTC)
    • Hey Cutch, I wanted to apologize; you were right about Vader's saber being "dual-phase". User:Darth_Vatrir supplied me with the following source:
"Determined to please his |Master, he tried to create something novel, but ended up fashioning a black version of the lightsaber he wielded for more than a decade, with a thick, ridged handgrip, high-output diatium power cell, dual-phase focusing crystal, and forward mounted adjustment knobs."

Critokians

A view that only I have? I'm sure if you looked beyond that little "design an alien" contest you've got such a hard on for, you'd see that pretty much the entire body of the expanded universe agrees. As to Whee Tillatch, I deleted the BTS section because he's obviously none of the speculated species, there's really no point in including what some moron thinks he is. --Pdixie 15:33, 6 November 2006 (UTC) In regards to sources, The Essential Guide to Planets and Moons, The Illustrated Star Wars Universe, The Wildlife of Star Wars, the "Inside the Worlds of" books, and others all make no mention of the WTS aliens. I could see there being colonies of those species on said planets, but Dagobah, Hoth and Yavin 4 have no native sentients. Put it to vote. --Pdixie 22:40, 6 November 2006 (UTC)

I was on vacation from the wiki as well as in real terms. Nice to .... "see" you again too, bud. Need some time to get back to my normal edit- self and back on my feet. -- Jabbathehuttgartogg(Rancor pit) GrappasTattoo-CrimsonEmpireII 03:44, 7 November 2006 (UTC)

Jabba's pets

I was under the impression that Ikrit was pretending to be Anakin's pet. Also, the Gorax tend to eat Ewoks, so that one is hardly fair. Still, I do agree with you on Jabba's sentient pets (although Kowakian monkey lizards are usually deemed semi-sentient). Also, you may want to archive this pretty soon. -- SFH 05:38, 14 February 2007 (UTC)

  • To make an archive, imply put Cutch Archive 1. For a header, make this

<div class="notice metadata" id="talkarchive" style="border-top:2px solid #ddd; border-bottom:2px solid #ddd;"> ''See [[User talk: Cutch Archive 1|Cutch Archive 1]]'' </div>

If you're having trouble keeping track of the code, just copy the text and put it at the top of your talk page. -- SFH 05:46, 14 February 2007 (UTC)
