The Written Word

  • I do fortunately have a copy for my own reference. However, unless things have changed in my frequent absences lately, it's discouraged, if not outright against the rules, to share files of, or links to, unauthorized copies of copyrighted materials here. That said, searching for my name and "The Written Word" on sites like Google or Facebook will likely turn something up with a little digging. jSarek (talk) 06:22, 24 June 2024 (UTC)
    • So you’re not the copyright holder? That’s quite sad. — BabylonAS 06:32, 24 June 2024 (UTC)
      • No, I am not. All Star Wars materials, and indeed all materials for most big media franchises, are created on a strictly work-for-hire basis; parent corporations (in this case, Lucasfilm Ltd.) retain all copyrights. And, to a certain extent, that's the only thing that makes works like The Written Word possible; I can't imagine how that article could have existed if, for example, Stephen Crane had withheld copyright permission to include Aurebesh, or Eric S. Trautmann had required a licensing fee to use Milanda Vorgan... jSarek (talk) 03:40, 25 June 2024 (UTC)
        • Fair. Did you ever ask Lucasfilm to re-release the article? — BabylonAS 08:34, 25 June 2024 (UTC)
          • No. Not for lack of desire to see it re-released, but because I knew ultimately that decisions like that are made based on big business math, and my voice was unlikely to change that. jSarek (talk) 06:00, 26 June 2024 (UTC)
            • Still, I think contacting them to make all old Hyperspace stuff available for all to read and view is worth a try. — BabylonAS 06:06, 26 June 2024 (UTC)
