Project Ideas

Say you had to make a Star Wars movie.... What would it be about? Would you make a trilogy? How long would the movies be? Which characters would you make up? Which previously used characters would you use? When would it be set? Would you write, direct or both? What scenes would you put? Which actors would you hire?

I have been planning this for a few days now...

I am planning out three movies, set wwwwaaaayyyy before the prequels (like about maybe 60-70,000 years before) part of a trilogy I want to call "The Old Trilogy" (this is still in its infancy though. I still have to get through a year-and-a-half of college)

I don't have official names for the movies so right now I'm calling them Star Wars I, Star Wars II and Star Wars III. I want to introduce a lot of characters both new and old such as a canon version of Darth Malgus for II.

I've thought up storylines for the movies: I will focus on the creation of the first lightsaber because I that that would be something that would interest the fans given the limited technology during the time period. This movie will also set up the rivalry between Jedi and Sith. The second movie I thought could be set centuries after the first and will focus on the establishment of the first Jedi Order and the Sith's attempt to tear it down as well the introduction of the Mandalorians and the start of what would become the Jedi-Mandalorian War. And of course, feature a canonized version of Darth Malgus unrelated the KOTOR (Knights of the Old Republic) version. III I thought could touch upon this and expand on it. I have yet to figure out if its a good idea to show the end of the war as well or to touch upon that later in a TV show.

As I stated earlier, the Old Trilogy will take place about 60,000 - 70,000 years before the Prequel Trilogy.

It would be an honor to direct at least one installment, but my skills at writing are sharper (they could still use improvement) and I would need to at least try to expand on my Legends knowledge if I want Darth Malgus for Star Wars II.

To expand on the trilogy's story, the first movie would need to be at least maybe two or three hours long. The last two however are dealing with both Sith oppression and the Mandalorian-Jedi War so they would probably need to be at least three or four hours long.

I've considered a few actors to play Malgus: I would consider Heath Ledger due to his sadistic portrayal of the Joker in The Dark Knight. Malgus certainly seems Pure Evil but unfortunately Ledger died of a drug overdose shortly after filming The Dark Knight. I'm also considering Javier Bardem due to his heartless portrayals of villains such as Anton Chigurh (a hitman) in No Country for Old Men and cyberterrorist Raoul Silva/Tiago Rodriguez in Skyfall. Also as far as I know, Bardem seems to have more sci-fi experience having appeared as Stilgar in Dune (2021 adaptation).

I haven't thought up any original characters yet except for one Jedi (haven't developed much on said Jedi)

For a few scenes, I thought for I I would have a scene where an agent is chasing the main protagonist on a speeder bike across an icy sea, reminiscent of when the Sith agent chases Kara in Star Wars Visions S1 E5: The Ninth Jedi. For II I thought to have a scene where Sith agents are pursuing our protagonists on speeder bikes in a scene similar to Mad Max: Fury Road. I also thought to have a scene near the end where my unnamed Jedi slays Malgus in lightsaber combat at the end. For III I have no ideas.
