Wookieepedian of the Month
Aidje, for your continued contributions on this wiki, from nearly day one, I congratulate you on being this month's WotM. Have a fun vacation. -- Riffsyphon1024 19:16, 1 Jul 2005 (UTC)
Categorization Scheme
Would you be interested in working together to sketch out some ideas for a greater wiki-wide categorization scheme? The current structure, or lack there of, is a bit chaotic and not particularly helpful. Let me know. --SparqMan 18:51, 14 Jul 2005 (UTC)
- I'd love to help in whatever way I can. – Aidje talk 19:21, 14 Jul 2005 (UTC)
- I'll sign on as well, if I may. --Imp 19:23, 14 Jul 2005 (UTC)
- I hope that wasn't directed at my categorization skills. -- Riffsyphon1024 20:25, 14 Jul 2005 (UTC)
Imperator
I believe this name comes from old (and I mean OLD) sources, providing the earliest stats on star destroyers. They got the lenght and dimensions wrong, but the name was good (and I think it originally came from the movie production crew), and made more sense than Imperial-class (it even adds to the Imperial Rome connection with the use of Latin). Btw. congratulations on being Wookiepedian of the Month! :D VT-16 13:12, 16 Jul 2005 (UTC)
- I didn't realize that the name Imperator had come from old sources—I guess I thought that Curtis Saxton made it up because he thought Imperial sounded stupid. By the way, I do agree that Imperial is a stupid name for a class and never should have been 'canonized', but I do think that it should be accepted as canon since it is stated as canon in almost every canon source. It's not something that I feel very passionately about, so I don't really care to argue the point—that's why I try to stay away from the issue for the most part. And thanks. – Aidje talk 05:40, 18 Jul 2005 (UTC)
Worries me
John-1107 does. Why does he need all that stuff on his page? And why won't he consider another site if he wants privacy? -- Riffsyphon1024 00:46, 24 Jul 2005 (UTC)
- Worries me too (hence my suggestion that he try Geocities or something). I don't understand why he wants to use a wiki for this stuff. Sure is weird. – Aidje talk 02:41, 24 Jul 2005 (UTC)
I removes comments from my user page because they are "too negative". I can't leave these comments on my talk page! Leave me alone, i don't want anybody to talk to me! I fear that you're becoming my new enemy, but i don't want an enemy right now! -- Eddyward Telerionus 05:33, 27 Jul 2005 (UTC)
- I don't want to be your enemy. I'm giving you advice that, if followed, will take away reasons for people to dislike you. You're giving people plenty of reasons and I'm just trying to help you. – Aidje talk 06:11, 27 Jul 2005 (UTC)
I can delete comments from my user page if i don't like them for any reason, but i don't want to leave them there! I'm still trying to recover from the effects of Snowspinner's actions against me. I wanted to use a wiki for my stuff because i wanted to spread information about me, my future, and my stories from a piece of paper to the internet, however, i confine this information to the wiki because the wiki is the only freely editable website on the internet. -- Eddyward Telerionus 14:37, 28 Jul 2005 (UTC)
- You're really confusing me—I thought you didn't want other people to be able to edit your stuff. Well, in any case, you've taken all of the stuff in question off of your user page, so that's not an issue any more (for this wiki, anyway). – Aidje talk 15:22, 28 Jul 2005 (UTC)
Well, other people shouldn't edit my user pages because only i can edit them in any way i see fit. I didn't confuse you, but if i did, my apologies, forgive me. -- Eddyward Telerionus 19:21, 28 Jul 2005 (UTC)
- What I don't understand is why you want a freely editable site if you don't want it to be freely edited. – Aidje talk 20:09, 28 Jul 2005 (UTC)
The reason why only i can edit my user pages is because if somebody else edited my page, his/her changes will disappoint me. Tell the others that i'm going to blank my user talk page because yesterday night, my big brother learned of the reason why i was banned from Wikipedia and he will report to my parents about this in order to get me in trouble. Please tell the others to not revert my edits because i don't want anyone in my family to know about this because my talk page can get me grounded from the computer. -- Eddyward Telerionus 23:49, 29 Jul 2005 (UTC)
- I understand why you wouldn't want other people editing your page—in most situations, it would be quite inappropriate to edit another person's user page; what I don't understand is why you want a freely editable website when you get so upset about others editing your user page. I certainly don't want to get involved in family matters, but I think you should give your brother the benefit of the doubt. Maybe he does just want to get you in trouble, but maybe he's telling your parents because they should know. – Aidje talk 05:34, 30 Jul 2005 (UTC)
- Look John. If you tell people you are going to rape people in their sleep, that disturbs us all, and that is probably the real reason you got banned. -- Riffsyphon1024 05:38, 30 Jul 2005 (UTC)
Hey y'all don't bring up that same topic against me, let's just forget about what happened to me on Wikipedia because i don't want any more pain to suffer from. Tell that to my enemies on Wikipedia because no one has absolute control of my user pages except me because his/her changes to my user page can disappoint me. -- Eddyward Telerionus 22:06, 30 Jul 2005 (UTC)
- No offense, but you're not saying anything that we haven't heard several times already, and this discussion doesn't seem to be going anywhere. You've taken down your user page; okay, we can stop arguing about it. – Aidje talk 04:38, 2 Aug 2005 (UTC)
Adminship
Congrats on becoming an admin. We'll probably be adding some more admins soon to help keep things running and spread the load. :) WhiteBoy 06:14, 31 Jul 2005 (UTC)
- Cheers, Aidje. I am confident that your excellent contributions will be reflected in your work as an admin. May, uh, the Force be with you. And stuff. ;-) --SparqMan 06:33, 31 Jul 2005 (UTC)
- Yes, Congratulations on becoming our new admin. Your skills have shown over the months and now you are rightly awarded. -- Riffsyphon1024 07:18, 31 Jul 2005 (UTC)
- Congrats, Aidje. It was about damn time. ;) And remember: Do-ro'ik vong pratte! --Imp 08:42, 31 Jul 2005 (UTC)
- The Force is strong with this one . . . Congratulations, Aidje. :-) jSarek 09:24, 31 Jul 2005 (UTC)
- *blink* Thanks everyone. Apparently I'm the last person to find out anything around here. When did this happen? What'd I miss? ooo, pretty new buttons... :-) – Aidje talk 04:36, 2 Aug 2005 (UTC)
Illinois
Where in Illinois are you from? --SparqMan 04:03, 3 Aug 2005 (UTC)
- Suburbs of Chicago. Naperville, to be exact. Are you from Illinois? – Aidje talk 04:42, 3 Aug 2005 (UTC)
Ha! I'm from Deerfield. Near neighbors. =) --SparqMan 05:49, 6 Aug 2005 (UTC)

Dylki Maloc
Its a lie created by a person i left in charge of my site a lone time ago. I found out she lied to them all and left crap until a we days ago saying i left. But really i left a month ago, and she wrote the page after me and my love of star wars. Like how Dylki flew in the space battle over Geonoisis, i always wanted to go to space. And my Favorite Star Wars Species is Zabrak, She put Dylki was Zabrak. Sry for all of this!Dylankidwell 05:37, 6 Aug 2005 (UTC)
- Not a big deal, we just want to make sure we catch stuff like that. I've deleted the article. I'm glad that you remembered where that had come from. – Aidje talk 05:41, 6 Aug 2005 (UTC)
Anytime Dylankidwell 05:45, 6 Aug 2005 (UTC)
Thanks!
Thank you for the help! Don't forget to vist my site! Star Wars 101 Dylankidwell 06:04, 6 Aug 2005 (UTC)
- I saw that. I noticed that a picture was linked from this wiki so that it showed up on your Xanga. This may have been done by your friend you were talking about, but either way, could you take down these hotlinks? If you want to know why, run a Google search for 'bandwidth theft'. I'm sure you'll find plenty of explanations. – Aidje talk 06:15, 6 Aug 2005 (UTC)
Bandwidth theft? whats that? can you explain that just a little bit?Dylankidwell 06:44, 6 Aug 2005 (UTC)
- If your Xanga is displaying pictures from this wiki, then you're using this wiki's bandwidth without permission, hence the term 'bandwidth theft'—you're using what we're paying for (or what Wikicities is paying for). The term doesn't necessarily imply malicious intent—it usually happens because someone just doesn't know any better. – Aidje talk 06:49, 6 Aug 2005 (UTC)
- Here's more info. WhiteBoy 06:52, 6 Aug 2005 (UTC)
So like should i put like a little thingy saying images provied by:....? Dylankidwell 06:55, 6 Aug 2005 (UTC)
- No, the idea is that you should save a copy of the image to your web site and change your page to point to it there instead of pointing to the copy that's on this site. WhiteBoy 07:06, 6 Aug 2005 (UTC)
- A good option for you would probably be to sign up with a free image host that allows hotlinking, such as Photobucket or Ripway. – Aidje talk 19:55, 6 Aug 2005 (UTC)
- Dylan, the images in the update your friend did on "Wednesday, August 03, 2005", are are uploaded to this site, not to your photobucket account. It'd be nice if you could download them and re-upload them on Photobucket. Using images uploaded here costs Wikicities money, you see. --Imp 14:18, 7 Aug 2005 (UTC)
- Wait, wait about the "Free Use" that Wiki uses. Couldn't somebody just claim that its free use. Gwai Lo 21:55, 29 Sep 2005 (UTC)
Replying
Aidje,
I'm sorry it appeared that I was ignoring what you were saying. I didn't see the messages at first. *blushes* I'll remember your words. Thanks! :)
AngelQueen
- I'm glad that you weren't intentionally ignoring it. I was hoping that was the case. :-) – Aidje talk 19:53, 6 Aug 2005 (UTC)
Planet templates
Sikon, I appreciate the work you're doing on this template system, but I think it would probably be best if it was discussed some more before it's implemented. If you could hold off on templating any more articles until a consensus is reached, it would be appreciated. We can do the discussing on Template talk:Planet. Don't worry about undoing what you've done so far, though; I think it's okay to leave it that way and undo it later if need be. – Aidje talk 06:02, 7 Aug 2005 (UTC)
- Certainly, I will wait for the community's decision. I've only converted two planets so far (Malachor V for "low-level" templates and Mycroft for {{planet}}), only to illustrate the system. - Sikon 06:20, 7 Aug 2005 (UTC)
Quinlan Vos in Episode III
I was wondering if you knew anything about this? Dylankidwell 03:56, 8 Aug 2005 (UTC)
- Sorry, I don't think I know any more than you do. All I've heard is that he might be in a deleted scene, which would rock beyond comprehension. – Aidje talk 04:15, 8 Aug 2005 (UTC)
Re: Minor edits
What's wrong with marking all of my edits minor? I don't see any wrong with marking all of my edits minor. -- Eddyward Telerionus 02:15, 13 Aug 2005 (UTC)
- It's a matter of rudeness to mark all your edits, minor or not, as minor. Minor edits should only be those that do not add or remove information from a page. If this is done, then it is a major edit, and please do not touch minor edit then. -- Riffsyphon1024 02:26, 13 Aug 2005 (UTC)
- Riff said it. – Aidje talk 04:08, 13 Aug 2005 (UTC)
Paranoia
This isn't a SW-related question, but I've been wondering if you or anyone here might have been conflicted with that worm. I've been quite paranoid and hypochondriactic lately and haven't been back since Tuesday. Reassure me everything is ok. -- Riffsyphon1024 16:18, 19 Aug 2005 (UTC)
- Everything on the wiki? I'm not sure I understand what you're saying. – Aidje talk 17:34, 19 Aug 2005 (UTC)
Welcome Back
Welcome back to the wiki, Aidje. As you can see, its grown very much just in the last month. You can thank Justin and the other TFNers for that. -- Riffsyphon1024 04:17, 29 Aug 2005 (UTC)
