Wookieepedia aspires to be a reliable source for all Star Wars fans to read and draw information from, and as such, fan-created continuity and fan fiction are not allowed within our articles. All in-universe material must be attributable to a reliable, published source.

Do not remove talk page and forum comments, including your own, as they are part of the public record. Remember that you should always sign your comments on talk and vote pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~.

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wookieepedian! If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the Senate Hall, visit our official IRC channel, or ask me on my talk page. May the Force be with you! —{}

I do appreciate your disassembly of the planets for Wikipedia would never let us give each planet an article. If you go to my user page you can view the copied lists of planets from TheForce.net. I hope that lists of planets are not copyrighted as the text inside their links describing them there are. Once approved I will move them to the Planets of Star Wars and that article will look more like a list with links to a few thousand planets. Yes, I said thousand. -- Riffsyphon1024 13:19, 31 Mar 2005 (EST)

  • Lists are generally not eligible for copyright. For instance, you can't copyright a phonebook organized alphabetically. Copyrights require a minimum of creative effort. Now, if you organized it by favorite color, you'd have a case.--Eion 06:06, 27 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Systems Lowercases

Gee, Aidje. A piece of basic wikiwisdom. Did you know that you could hit the edit tab and change the entire page at once? -- Riffsyphon1024 21:09, 31 Mar 2005 (EST)

Sorry; I don't know what was wrong with my head. I did feel pretty stupid once I realized what I'd done. I've been trying to be more careful and do more edits together at one time, for example, my recent Corellia edits. I'm still running into a few cases where I'll, for instance, fix some wikilinks, and then after I submit I'll notice that there are some spelling problems as well. I readily admit that it was stupid, and I'm trying to be more careful. Thanks for the advice; if I hadn't already noticed, I certainly wouldn't have minded learning. Aidje 21:24, 31 Mar 2005 (EST)
Yes, I've edited pages and found something right afterward. But "what you're doing is suicide". Sorry couldn't help myself. -- Riffsyphon1024 22:31, 31 Mar 2005 (EST)

He

Just making sure I didn't make a mistake giving you another gender that you might not have been. Also, I like your use of the term "Wookify" and "Wookieefication". They might just catch on now. :) -- Riffsyphon1024 17:28, 5 Apr 2005 (EDT)

yeah, I understand why you said "he/she". When I saw that, I just thought it would be a good idea to say on my user page so people wouldn't have to wonder in the future. And thanks, I like the terms too—the credit really belongs more to WhiteBoy if he's the one who came up with "Wookieepedia". I think my specific definition for this term is original, though. -- Aidje 17:54, 5 Apr 2005 (EDT)
  • And feel free to add to the new Wookify page I set up. Others must know of this great coining. -- Riffsyphon1024 17:58, 5 Apr 2005 (EDT)
    • hehe, I'm already going at it. Thanks for the invitation though. -- Aidje 17:59, 5 Apr 2005 (EDT)

Knights of the Old Republic II: Sith Lords

I wouldn't mind if you cleaned it up because I cant get all the formatting right.

I tried to be descriptive without releasing spoilers or add too much game information. Also many of the planets and characters should be linked to the other great descriptions in the wiki.

Cheers, 131

Sure, I can do that. If you want to learn about how wiki markup works, check out this page; it can be a bit of a read and might be more useful as a reference. Of course, if you don't know anything about HTML, then you'll be starting from scratch—if you know HTML already, then its just substitutions for what you already know (looking at Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords, it looks like you know at least some HTML). I'll go ahead and wikify the page in question. -- Aidje 12:56, 12 Apr 2005 (EDT)

Thanks

Thank you for fixing my mistake on List of Star Wars races. I hadn't realized that the Compact TOC required any reformatting (*smacks forehead*). -- Aidje 00:42, 13 Apr 2005 (EDT)

  • Yea, that can be a hassle unless you know how the system works. It searches for the letters, not the names. Anyone could make the same mistake, so don't fret. -- Riffsyphon1024 01:12, 13 Apr 2005 (EDT)

Sorry

Sorry for unintentionally giving you so much work.Darth Fisto 19:17, 19 Apr 2005 (UTC)

We all make mistakes. If you want to help clean things up (if you think you're getting the idea of how things work), you can click that "my contributions" link up in the corner and check through your previous edits. I know most of the things said so far have been negative (mostly corrections of mistakes and such), but it is appreciated that you're doing so much work filling in the missing images. And by the way, I feel kind of bad that I used "cleaning up after DF" for a few of my edit summaries. I feel that I was a bit too negative by saying that. -- Aidje 20:53, 19 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Good Work

Thank you for cleaning up after Darth Fisto. -- Riffsyphon1024 19:24, 19 Apr 2005 (UTC)

He needs the Wookiee Award! :) WhiteBoy 22:28, 25 Apr 2005 (UTC)
Ah you mean the Defender of the Wookiee award. -- Riffsyphon1024 20:32, 28 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Aidje!

Please don't fill my User talk page with silly requests. I have a very, very short temper. I am also under stress right now, so please! Don't get me aggravated. Thanks. KFan II 01:52, 27 Apr 2005 (UTC)

  • Silly requests? I only asked that you not replace articles that already existed here with articles from Wikipedia. If someone wants to read those articles then they can go to Wikipedia. I try my best not to incite people to anger, but that won't generally stop me from telling someone if they're making a mistake. I consider it a good thing to hold people accountable for their actions, and I also think that people should be willing to learn from their mistakes. I'm sorry if you're under stress—perhaps if it's really that bad you shouldn't be editing a Wiki, especially if you're unable to control your own temper. -- Aidje 03:03, 27 Apr 2005 (UTC)
Actually I think copying Wikipedia articles is a perfectly legit way of creating an article. Here are some guidelines but as long as they are followed, I vote it's ok. (Please go ahead and wookify the article while you're at it.) Wikipedia is where this site got started, and has some great SW articles. WhiteBoy 01:58, 28 Apr 2005 (UTC)
  • I agree that it's a perfectly legitimate way of creating an article, but he was replacing articles that already existed here and that had already undergone wookification. Darth Fisto and I simply asked that he modify the existing articles as needed rather than completely replacing them. -- Aidje 14:27, 28 Apr 2005 (UTC)
Aidje, I'm sorry I called your request silly. Its just that those Episode articles only had when they were made and the cast. Suppsoedly this is where fans of Star Wars can have info about the Episodes. The cast and date aren't really, well, info. You know? I hope I'm not sounding like a snotty teenager, 'cause I'm not even a teenager. KFan II 23:52, 8 May 2005 (UTC)
  • I understand that the articles needed improving, we just had a disagreement about the method to be used, that's all. Don't worry, I don't think you're sounding snotty. – Aidje talk 04:09, 9 May 2005 (UTC)

Lightsaber crystals

I was perusing the Illustrated Guide to Episode II in Walmart yesterday and came upon a strange and interesting fact.

It said that the Sith use synthetic crystals that generate a [slightly] more damaging edge than regular crystals. This is under the Count Dooku section. Very interesting.

  • I had heard that synthetic crystals were the cause of the red blades, but I had not realized that they produced a more powerful blade. I believe I have this book. I'll check it out and perhaps edit lightsaber to reflect this fact (unless you do so first, of course). -- Aidje 17:08, 28 Apr 2005 (UTC)
  • I want to say the I, Jedi had a mention of the increased power but reduced stability of synthetic crystals. Not sure. --SparqMan 21:19, 10 May 2005 (UTC)
  • I always believed that to be the case. I think possibly I first read it in the Star Wars Encyclopedia. --Beeurd 22:46, 10 May 2005 (UTC)
  • I've inserted a fairly noncommittal phrase into the lightsaber article, so at least the info is present now. I'm sure it can be incorporated in a more proper fashion by someone who knows more. – Aidje talk 23:08, 10 May 2005 (UTC)

Speedy Deletes

I've just uploaded the speedy template so now you don't have to make all those lists Vfds, but just flag them with delete and I'll take them off your hands immediately, or as fast as possible. -- Riffsyphon1024 16:57, 3 May 2005 (UTC)

Thanks, I'll do that. -- Aidje 16:58, 3 May 2005 (UTC)

Kosh's horrible spelling

Man, Aidje, you should just follow me around fixing my atrocious(sp?) spelling. --Kosure 14:37, 5 May 2005 (UTC)

  • You spelled it right :-) Aidje 14:39, 5 May 2005 (UTC)

Spoiling yourself

Aidje, if you don't want to spoil the movie for you anymore than you have already, just stay away from those articles in particular. I do. Someone who doesn't care about spoilers will do it, and we'll still get things done. Just being adviceful. -- Riffsyphon1024 21:11, 6 May 2005 (UTC)

  • I do try, although I'm not particularly good at it. There's not usually much warning, if any. I'm getting better at it, though. Why are you bringing this up again—is there some particular reason? -- Aidje 22:02, 6 May 2005 (UTC)
    • Your edit comments. -- Riffsyphon1024 01:30, 9 May 2005 (UTC)
      • Ah, I see. I don't really quite know how to respond, because I would probably end up going into some long-winded explanation that may or may not be related to what you were actually talking about. Oh well, we're almost there (May 19) anyway. Thanks for the advice anyway, I'll try to keep it in account. – Aidje talk 03:32, 9 May 2005 (UTC)
        • I guess we don't have to worry about this anymore, do we? -- Riffsyphon1024 09:47, 26 May 2005 (UTC)

Whoops

Sorry about that thing with droid starfighter- didn't mean to delete your edits, I was just on autopilot, not really thinking about what I was doing. Sorry! --Fade 15:27, 9 May 2005 (UTC)

  • It's okay; the main point of my first edit was to add the OOU template—your edits took care of that, and also did several of the edits that I had originally done. Redoing my edits probably didn't take anymore than a minute, and I actually did more the second time around that I hadn't noticed the first time – Aidje talk 15:31, 9 May 2005 (UTC)

Years

How are we going to make articles for all those years between 4000 BBY and the lower numbers like 30 BBY-30 ABY? Are we even going to try? -- Riffsyphon1024 04:30, 25 May 2005 (UTC)

  • Also thank you for closing those boxes. I had much trouble with them. -- Riffsyphon1024 04:34, 25 May 2005 (UTC)
  • As for those in-between years, I'm not sure. I've been brainstorming to try and find a solution, but I haven't though of anything yet. As for the boxes, I actually only closed one of them, I think. All you have to do is add "|}" to the end of the box. Most of my edits on the years were adding to the sort names, putting in zeros so that the system would properly sort the years, for instance, so that it would know that 5 ABY is in fact earlier than 15 ABY. It goes by the first digit, so we have to add in zeros for the "empty" digits. – Aidje talk 04:44, 25 May 2005 (UTC)

KFan II comment

I deleted my comment on KFan II when I realised that I had made a mistake but it was obviously re-added to Riffsyphon's page because it was still a relevant point. --Darth Mantus 09:43, 26 May 2005 (UTC)

  • I saw that you had removed your comment, and I thought I should clarify for Riff's sake, since he didn't seem to realize what you had said. I think that he thought you were talking about the comments KFan's been putting on everyone's talk pages, which is certainly a valid concern, though not what you were talking about in that particular comment about Gen.d's user page. – Aidje talk 14:26, 26 May 2005 (UTC)
  • Thanks for clearing that up, I mistook the comment on Gen.d's page. But with regards to that particular page it seems that Gen.d is making a racist comment about KFan II. Though I don't agree with KFan's attitude and he is very infuriating sometimes, I don't think it is right for racist comments to be made against him (if that is what the comment is implying).--Darth Mantus 15:29, 26 May 2005 (UTC)
    • I agree that racist comments are always out of place, but, unless I'm mistake, Gen.d is actually referring to himself when he makes the comment about Germany. It was in response to KFan saying "Where do these people come from?"—Gen.d was just stating his county of origin in response to that. :-) – Aidje talk 15:34, 26 May 2005 (UTC)
  • Ah, Once again I've gone and misunderstood everything, woops. Thanks for sorting that problem out.--Darth Mantus 15:49, 26 May 2005 (UTC)

R2-D2 and gender

Aloha. We're having a debate as to R2's "gender" on Wikipedia, and since you've done some work on this wiki, I was wondering if you could help me resolve the question. I think it's generally assumed that R2 has masculine programming, either because of the references to "he" in the movies, aspects of novelization, and some external reference books (allegedly Star Wars: The Essential Guide to Droids). Unfortunately, this isn't good enough for a certain user on Wikipedia, and I was wondering if you could shed some light on this matter, and if anyone else is reading this, please feel free to help out as well. --Viriditas 06:17, 28 May 2005 (UTC)

  • I always thought Artoo was male programmed. -- Riffsyphon1024 07:07, 28 May 2005 (UTC)
  • I went over and read the conversation. I definitely agree with you, but an anonymous contributor gave the information from The New Essential Guide to Characters before I was able to comment, so it looks like this is resolved (unless Guttlekraw decides that the book in question doesn't count for some reason—some people certainly don't like to admit when they're wrong, but we can hope). Thanks for letting me know about it, though; I certainly would have thrown in my two cents, if only to show Guttlekraw how outnumbered s/he was. – Aidje talk 17:21, 28 May 2005 (UTC)
    • Now "Intrigue" has stepped in to bat for Guttlekraw. He wants to include a "question mark" next to masculine programming. Since we have a cited source, this doesn't seem right. We could use your help on the talk page. --Viriditas 06:21, 30 May 2005 (UTC)
      • Okay. I don't know how much they'll actually care about my opinion, but I'll certainly chime in for the cause. – Aidje talk 01:52, 31 May 2005 (UTC)
  • The things people choose to fight over...--Eion 01:54, 31 May 2005 (UTC)
    • Indeed. – Aidje talk 02:04, 31 May 2005 (UTC)

Award

thumb|200px|I, hereby award Aidje the Wookieefication Award. -- Riffsyphon1024 15:58, 2 Jun 2005 (UTC) Aidje, for your extended contributions in the form of Wookification, I present to you this Wookieefication Award. It's not much really, just a bunch of content wookiees sitting around. -- Riffsyphon1024 15:56, 2 Jun 2005 (UTC)

  • Ooo. Wookiees. Thank you. – Aidje talk 16:57, 2 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Fan theory

Are we absolutely positive that the whole Mace Windu BMF lightsaber thing is just that, a theory, a rumor? I would beg to differ. -- Riffsyphon1024 06:07, 11 Jun 2005 (UTC)

  • I've never heard it mentioned as anything other than a joke, usually made by people on message boards. If you have some source that states it as fact, then I concede the point. I, however, have yet to see a real source. – Aidje talk 19:17, 11 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Signature

Whenever you sign your name you've got the litle "talk" link by it. Do you manually put that in, or is there some secret trick you've got? -- Shadowtrooper 18:03, 16 Jun 2005 (UTC)

  • It's in the preferences. There's a box labeled "Your nickname (for signatures)". I entered – Aidje talk in that text box, and then checked the box labeled "Raw signatures (without automatic link)". It's quite easy once you know the trick. Notice that I also have my n-dash as part of my signature, so all I have to type is the four tildes. – Aidje talk 21:16, 16 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Vodran kajidics

Vodran kajidics get a brief mention in Galaxy Guide 12 -- they might also be in the WOTC alien anthology, but I don't own that one. Anyway, thanks for bringing that to my attention. -- Silly Dan 02:49, 23 Jun 2005 (UTC)
