Per pronouns being added to infoboxes, gender should not be assumed to equal pronouns. Many major characters will have their gender listed outright in a common source such as the Databank. However, in cases in which it isn't, these gendered terms can be searched for in the process of sourcing a character's gender.

  • Add related category (Category:Individuals by pronouns) to article, sorted alphabetically along with the other categories.
  • Add, if necessary, sourcing for the prose's first pronoun usage and have it match the same reference provided in the infobox.
  • Check the article's current gender source and either verify or update it to ensure it does not assume gender based on pronouns. If gender is removed from the article, rearrange the associated categories.
  • Check the article's personality and traits to ensure gender is removed, if it wasn't sourceable in the step above.
  • Check that |pronouns= infobox field is situated directly below |gender=.
  • Check if other characters in the article's prose source pronouns and gender correctly, and whether their first usages of pronouns are supported by the listed source.
  • Delink instances of linking gender directly to pronouns and relink it to another applicable gendered term, if present, such as [[Gender|woman]].
  • Rename an article, it's mediacat, and it's images if the character's gender no longer has the necessary source to support a gendered term (Unidentified male server).
