Luca was a Human male who operated as a smuggler associated with the Rebel Alliance during the Galactic Civil War.

Luca was a Human male that lived in the Imperial Period. He owned a YT-2000 light freighter called the Faithless and worked as a smuggler. During the Galactic Civil War between the Alliance to Restore the Republic and the Galactic Empire, Luca brought supplies to a Rebel base on the planetoid Annamar, located in the Annamar system.^[1]

Captured by the Empire

Around 3 ABY, the Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Vader was trying to capture several Rebel pilots that were attacking Imperial cargo ships in an asteroid field in the Annamar system. While flying through the asteroid field on his Executor-class Star Dreadnought, the Executor, the ship's sensors picked up the Faithless. Believing that it was a Rebel ship, Vader ordered to activate the tractor beam and the Faithless was drown on board. The ship was surrounded by stormtroopers and Luca came out with his hands up. Captain Holt asked Luca his name and rank, and Luca replied that, since it was his ship, he was the captain. However, after learning that Holt was a captain as well, Luca said that he was an admiral, which meant that he outranked the Imperial captain.^[1]

Holt slapped Luca and ordered to his stormtroopers to take him to an interrogation room. Darth Vader later came into the room and Luca was surprised by his height. The Sith Lord Force choked the smuggler and claimed that he was not interested in his jokes, calling Luca a Rebel. Luca replied that he was not affiliated with the Rebel Alliance and that he was only bringing them supplies because he was a "businessman." Vader stopped chocking him, and Luca explained him that he possesed command codes that allowed him to fly through the asteroid field avoding the defense systems. He also told the Sith about the Rebel base located on Annamar. Vader replied that they would organize a mission to destroy the base using the Faithless and a squadron of TIE fighters.^[1]
