My Star Wars StoryA long time ago, my Grandma sat me down in front of the TV and showed me something that would forever change my life. When I was 6 years old, I remember seeing all 6 Star Wars films and falling in love with such a unique universe. To this day, engraved in my mind is that one shot of General Grievous spinning his lightsabers around and moving towards Obi-Wan Kenobi in Episode 3. This sent me down a spiral of getting into Lego and building the Malevolence (Which still stands to this day) from the Clone Wars in 2013, days after the birth of my sister. For years, I followed this large universe, watching the prequels over and over again, especially Attack of the Clones, Geonosis was always my favourite part of the film. I remember having a Lego Star Wars reference book that documented a lot of the sets from moments in the galaxy, I remember reading Savage Opress and Galen Marek's names and being confused as to who they were. I even owned a cybernetic Maul figure from a Mandalorian Speeder and being confused why Darth Maul looked like this since I'd only seen his death in Phantom Menace. Eventually when the sequels started, before Christmas, my mum and I would go see the new films and being the young 8-year-old, falling in love with The Force Awakens and dying to know what happens next. By the time of The Rise of Skywalker, I finally watched the Clone Wars, understanding the years of knowledge I'd missed, and even playing the Force Unleashed games. By the time of Disney+, there is no turning back, nothing will break my love for this universe and to this day, my love for this deepens substantially. When I was sixteen (2023), I picked up E. K. Johnston's Ahsoka and Chuck Wendig's Aftermath, developing an appreciation for not only reading, but this different perspective of the galaxy. Later in the year, I found Dark Force Rising at a market, leading me to the Thrawn Trilogy. Two years later, I've read 34 different Star Wars Books, and I'm currently tackling the New Jedi Order! I've also started delving into some of the comics, starting with Jedi Knights (2025) and reading some old legends comics that I've helped contribute towards. Personal AspirationsI'm currently a student, in University to continue my knowledge of Game Design. My big aspiration is to take this knowledge to contribute to the Star Wars universe. |
