Urcos Furdam was a human pilot of the Resistance. While of Alderaanian ancestry, Furdam was born after Alderaan was destroyed. By 35 ABY,[2] he was the co-pilot of the Tantive IV, and regarded General Leia Organa as royalty.[4] Furdam perished at[3] the Battle of Exegol.[6]
Behind the scenes
Urcos Furdam first appeared in the 2019 sequel trilogy film, Star Wars: Episode IX The Rise of Skywalker,[5] and was identified by name in the accompanying reference book Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker: The Visual Dictionary, which was written by Pablo Hidalgo and released on the same day as the film.[4] The character was portrayed by Marcus Mumford, frontman of the band Mumford & Sons, in a cameo performance.[7]
Furdam's flight helmet was created within two days by Blaidon Props, a model making company that also created all of the Resistance pilot helmets for the film. The creators intended to build a conventional fighter pilot-style helmet connected to an oxygen mask. The helmet's visor was a repurposed stormtrooper lens prop from the 2016 film Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.[8]

Notes and references
- ↑ Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker: The Visual Dictionary establishes that Urcos Furdam was too young to ever step foot on Alderaan, indicating that Urcos was born after the destruction of Alderaan, which Star Wars: Galactic Atlas dates to 0 BBY.
- ↑ 2.0 2.1 Star Wars: Timelines dates the events of Star Wars: Episode IX The Rise of Skywalker to 35 ABY.
- ↑ 3.0 3.1 Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker: Expanded Edition states that the crew of the Tantive IV were killed when the corvette was destroyed during the battle of Exegol. As Star Wars: Episode IX The Rise of Skywalker establishes that Urcos Furdam piloted the Tantive IV during the battle, he must have been killed in the starship's destruction.
