"The Emperor didn't fight with his siblings about who got to sit on the throne because it didn't matter when his Empire belonged to the lords."
―The uncle, anticipating war between the Emperor's heirs[1]

Twenty years after the Sith rebellion, an uncle led a beast of burden as he traveled to Osou on the Outer Rim planet Genbara. A conversation between other beings on the same path turned to the growing tensions in the Empire. An aunty carrying baskets of rice scoffed at the claim that the Empire had experienced twenty years of peace and unification. In the previous year, her cousin had been shot by a bandit with a blaster, and the family had struggled to afford his bacta treatment. The uncle spoke up regarding the Emperor, who was on his deathbed at the time. According to the uncle, when the Emperor had risen to his throne, his siblings had not challenged him because the lords held the real power over the Empire. That had since changed, and the uncle expected that the Emperor's sons, the Crown Prince and the Second Prince, would soon fight each other to take their dying father's place. The aunty responded to him, saying the conflict was a squabble that would not affect distant locales, unlike the ongoing pirate attacks.[1]
