"I made a brief stop at a tapcafe on Lanz Carpo and found myself unable to stop munchin' on this scrumptious snack mix. Judgin' by all the empty bowls at the bar, I wasn't the only one with this problem."
―Strono Tuggs, The Ultimate Cookbook[1]

A tapcafe on the Core Worlds planet Lanz Carpo served the Carpo Crime Syndicate's Syndicate Snack Mix. During a culinary tour of the galaxy that he took[1] between 34 ABY and 35 ABY,[2] the Artiodac chef Strono Tuggs visited the tapcafe and ordered the snack mix. He greatly enjoyed the dish and judged that many others felt the same way given that there were a large number of empty bowls on the tapcafe's bar. Inspired by Lanz Carpo's high crime rate, Tuggs then stole the recipe for the dish and several more handfuls of the snacks before leaving the establishment to head to a safer location. The chef then included the recipe for the dish and mentioned the tapcafe in his third cookbook, The Ultimate Cookbook, which was published[1] in 35 ABY.[2]

Behind the scenes

The tapcafe was mentioned in the 2023 Star Wars: The Ultimate Cookbook, a recipe book written by Jenn Fujikawa and Marc Sumerak.[1]

  2. 2.0 2.1 Star Wars: The Ultimate Cookbook establishes that the publishing of the in-universe The Ultimate Cookbook and the culinary tour that preceded it occurred following the publishing of The Official Black Spire Outpost Cookbook and prior to the destruction of Kijimi. It also establishes that The Ultimate Cookbook was published following the Festival of the Ancestors that occurred during that time period. Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge: The Official Black Spire Outpost Cookbook further establishes that The Official Black Spire Outpost Cookbook was published concurrently with the First Order's search for the Resistance base on Batuu, which Star Wars: Timelines dates to 34 ABY. In addition, Timelines dates the Festival of the Ancestors and the destruction of Kijimi to 35 ABY, meaning the tour must have taken place between 34 ABY and 35 ABY and The Ultimate Cookbook must have been published in 35 ABY.
