A sentient species resided in the galaxy[1] around 3643 BBY.[2] Considered by some to be primitive, they treated holodramas created by the Hutt director Leero—which were generally considered tasteless in the wider galaxy—as divine messages.[1]
Around that year,[2] an individual affiliated with one of the sides in the ongoing struggle between the Galactic Republic and the reconstituted Sith Empire tasked a companion with helping Leero facilitate sales of their works. The companion discovered the species and their veneration of Leero's holodramas, and subsequently the aliens happily traded their wealth for discs containing those works.[1]
Behind the scenes
The species was mentioned in an Underworld Trading Crew Skill mission of Star Wars: The Old Republic, a 2011 video game developed by BioWare, though the information regarding the mission's outcome was later removed from the game.[1]

Star Wars: The Old Republic — Underworld Trading Crew Skill mission: "No Redeeming Value"
- ↑ 2.0 2.1 Per the reasoning here, Act I of Star Wars: The Old Republic takes place around 3643 BBY. Since players of The Old Republic can assign their companions on the mission "No Redeeming Value" independently of the main class storyline at any point during the game, the mission must take place at some point around 3643 BBY.
