The Outer Rim Territories planet Tao employed a particular writing system by the time the Galactic Empire allied itself with it. It was composed of several strokes, appearing significantly more complex than the more common Aurebesh or High Galactic alphabets.[1]
Behind the scenes
The writing system was introduced in the Star Wars: Visions short film "Lop & Ochō." They resemble Chinese characters (kanji) and the katakana writing systems employed in the Japanese language.[1] Actual written Japanese has been seen in the Star Wars Legends Star Tours and its revamped version, Star Tours: The Adventures Continue attractions at Tokyo Disneyland.[2]
