A regiment of sandtroopers served the Galactic Empire's Imperial Army during the Galactic Civil War,[2] and served as part of the famed and elite 501st Legion, Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Vader's personal legion.[1] Grand Moff Wilhuff Tarkin[2] and Darth Vader dispatched Commander Praji[1] and the regiment[2] to retrieve the stolen Death Star plans in the possession of two Rebel Alliance droids,[1] reinforcing[4] and joining the local garrison in the process.[5] Foot Patrol 7 was part of the regiment.[2]
