- "One legend says a priestess preserved an endling at the top of a mountain."
- ―Churo, to Sul-Nath-Rune
According to legend, a female priestess preserved the last surviving quiraawa flower, a plant said to have miraculous healing powers, at the top of a mountain on the planet Eroudac.[1] In 228 BBY,[2] when the Hutt Churo was searching for a way to heal[1] his homeworld[3] Nal Hutta, which had been infested by[1] the carnivorous plants[3] known as the Drengir, he researched legends about the quiraawa flower at the library of Senator[1] Rina Greylark[3] and learned of the priestess.[1]
After arriving on Eroudac to search for the quiraawa flower, Churo encountered the Jedi Knight Sul-Nath-Rune and told him about his search and the versions of the legend he had researched, including the version mentioning the priestess. Churo ultimately found a group of beings called the Heart of Eroudac, who offered him a quiraawa flower, but he chose not to take it, as doing so would destroy Eroudac.[1]
Behind the scenes
The priestess was mentioned in "The Adventures of Churo the Hutt and the Heart of Eroudac," a comic story included in the anthology The High Republic Adventures Phase III Annual. The story was written by Zoraida Córdova and published by Dark Horse Comics as part of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project's Phase III[1] on January 29, 2025.[4]

- ↑ Star Wars: Timelines dates Starlight Beacon's destruction to 230 BBY. The implementation of the Guardian Protocols, which Star Wars: The High Republic Character Encyclopedia places in 229 BBY, took place one week after Starlight Beacon's fall according to The High Republic – Shadows of Starlight 1. As The High Republic: Beware the Nameless takes place one and a half years after the destruction of Starlight Beacon, it must be set in 228 BBY. "The Adventures of Churo the Hutt and the Heart of Eroudac" establishes its events occur after the events of Beware the Nameless, therefore meaning they must take place no earlier than 228 BBY. The High Republic: A Valiant Vow depicts Churo working as the protégé of Glenna Kip, who he had not heard of during "The Adventures of Churo the Hutt and the Heart of Eroudac." Therefore, "The Adventures of Churo the Hutt and the Heart of Eroudac" must be set before A Valiant Vow. The events of A Valiant Vow take place nearly two years after the destruction of Starlight Beacon, meaning they and the events of "The Adventures of Churo the Hutt and the Heart of Eroudac" must also take place in 228 BBY per the aforementioned reasoning.
