A starship maneuver was used for stealth in the Unknown Regions of the galaxy. In the maneuver, a starship would disable its engines and communications systems and drift undetected toward its destination in a long, elliptical orbit. The maneuver could be used for sneak attacks or to stealthily maroon people and vessels which had been hijacked so they could be rescued without dying.[2]
The Grysk Hegemony used the maneuver to destroy Nikardun Destiny military bases with hidden asteroid missile platforms.[3]
Behind the scenes
The stealth maneuver first appeared in the 2021 novel Thrawn Ascendancy: Greater Good by Timothy Zahn.[3]

Notes and references
- ↑ According to Thrawn Ascendancy: Lesser Evil, the maneuver was employed by the Clarr family against the Irizi family three hundred years prior to the mission to Pleknok. Lesser Evil places the mission to Pleknok before the Vagaari pirate operations, which took place prior to the main events of Thrawn Ascendancy: Chaos Rising. Chaos Rising's main events take place around 19 BBY per Star Wars: Timelines. Therefore, the maneuver must have been invented by 319 BBY.
