"A further nine people claimed to have married Palpatine in a variety of secret ceremonies, and one nineteen-year-old ensign on Corellia claimed that Palpatine had appeared to him in a vision and ordered him to take the throne. He was executed by an ISB loyalty officer."
―Beaumont Kin, The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire[1]

Following the apparent death of Galactic Emperor Sheev Palpatine at the Battle of Endor[1] in 4 ABY,[2] a loyalty officer of the Galactic Empire's Imperial Security Bureau executed the nineteen-year-old Ensign Dakous after he claimed to have received a vision from Palpatine ordering him to take the Imperial throne. A file on Dakous, who was stationed on[1] the planet[3] Corellia, and his execution by the loyalty officer was stored in the "Treasonous Pretenders" section of the Imperial Archives. The historian Beaumont Kin cited the file when mentioning Dakous and the officer in[1] his[4] book The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire,[1] in 35 ABY.[5]

Behind the scenes

The loyalty officer was mentioned in the 2024 reference book Star Wars: The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire, which was written by Dr. Chris Kempshall.[1]
