- "What's the job?"
"Drop off three messages, they're encoded to keep them confidential. Got an order list right here of who they need to got to." - ―Kay Vess to the mechanic
A human mechanic resided on the jungle planet Akiva[1] in 3 ABY.[2] They had dark skin, brown eyes and wore a brown shirt, green pants, gray gloves and matching gray hat.[1] During 3 ABY,[2] they operated a delivery system from Sashin, a village in the Karaba Foothills on Akiva.[1]
During the same year they hired Kay Vess to deliver three encoded messaged to Maynora, Kazu, and Tripp for them. Vess had a S57 Cardinal speeder bike which was significantly quieter than the Bala-bala speeder the mechanic had access to which would keep the deliveries more discrete. After Vess successfully delievered the messages, she returned to the mechanic who paid her 500 credits.[1]
Behind the scenes
The mechanic appeared in the 2024 video game, Star Wars Outlaws developed by Massive Entertainment and published by Ubisoft. They are identified by the game's subtitles as "mechanic" and start the "Underworld Mail Service" intel quest. While not specifically stated it is implied that the delivers are to rebel operatives on Akiva.[1]
