- "Baron-Administrator Calrissian…we all want to thank you. Thank you so much."
"Uh…sure. Of course. My pleasure."
"You didn't abandon us to the Empire. You found the Rebellion, got help and came back for us. You rescued us. You're a hero."
"I just did what I had to. No big deal. Now, that had to be a grueling experience. You all try to get some rest. We'll get you medical attention back at the fleet. They've got a whole medical frigate, actually."
"Thank you, Baron-Administrator. Thank you." - ―The human Bespinite and Lando Calrissian
A human Bespinite lived in Cloud City at the gas giant Bespin during the Imperial Era. In 3 ABY, after the Galactic Empire took over the city, the human was frozen in carbonite along with other Bespinites by the Empire to be taken to the Imperial Security Bureau for interrogation. At the same time, the former Baron Administrator Lando Calrissian, along with Rebel Alliance members Leia Organa and Luke Skywalker, traveled to Cloud City on a mission.
During their mission, Organa was also frozen in carbonite and rounded up with the Bespinites. The Empire's attempt to take them off-world was prevented by Skywalker, who released the prisoners from the carbonite. The freed Bespinite then helped defeat a group of stormtroopers, joining the Rebel Alliance, before they left the city aboard a stolen Imperial shuttle. Sometime later, the human was present aboard the rebel flagship Home One and briefly spoke with Calrissian.
Biography
- "I wouldn't even be alive if it weren't for you, Baron Administrator. I mean—"
"Hey, just Lando. No need for fancy titles. You were one of my people back on Cloud City. I always look after my people." - ―The Bespinite and Lando Calrissian
By 3 ABY,[3] during the Imperial Era, a human Bespinite lived in Cloud City,[1] a tibanna gas mine at the gas giant Bespin.[4] At some point after the Galactic Empire took over the city[1] that year,[3] the human was frozen in carbonite along with other Bespinites by the Empire[1] and were to be transported off-world in an Imperial shuttle to be interrogated by the Imperial Security Bureau in accordance with Directive 197B-14. At the same time, the former Cloud City Baron Administrator Lando Calrissian traveled back to the city to rescue[5] his[3] friend, the cyborg Lobot, and was accompanied by Rebel Alliance members[5] General[6] Leia Organa and the Jedi-in-training Luke Skywalker, who had their own missions in the city. During her mission, Organa was also frozen in carbonite by the Empire, and she was taken to be placed with the Bespinite and the others who had been frozen in carbonite.[5] The carbonite-encased prisoners were then brought to Level 130 in Port Town by Imperial stormtroopers.[1]
The Bespinite was thankful to Lando Calrissian for returning to Cloud City and freeing them from the Galactic Empire.
Before they could be loaded onto the waiting shuttle, however, Skywalker, Calrissian, and Lobot arrived to save Organa. The Jedi used the Force to unfreeze the prisoners, including the human. Skywalker then again used the Force to lift the stormtroopers' E-11 blaster rifles into the air and over to the newly released general and Bespinites. They all then took a blaster and opened fire on the troopers. After the stormtroopers were defeated, the rebels stole the shuttle and left Cloud City for the rebel fleet. During the journey, the Bespinite thanked the former baron-administrator for not abandoning them to the Empire and returning to free them. They declared Calrissian a hero and hugged him. Calrissian then advised the Bespinites to get rest and informed them that when they returned to the fleet, they would all get medical attention.[1]
Sometime later, between 3 ABY and 4 ABY,[7] the human was present aboard the Alliance[2] flagship,[6] Home One, and briefly spoke with Calrissian about his prior rescue of them from Cloud City. The former baron administrator reminded the human they were one of his people, those he looked out for. As Calrissian walked away, the human smiled and cheerfully waved at him.[2]
Personality and traits
The Bespinite was grateful for Lando Calrissian's rescue.
The human had black hair, dark eyes, and light skin. They were very grateful to Lando Calrissian, believing he had not abandoned them to the Galactic Empire and he had returned to Cloud City to rescue them.[1] When they spoke to the former baron administrator aboard Home One, they were happy to see Calrissian and reminded him of his prior rescue of them, smiling cheerfully when they parted.[2]
Equipment
While in Cloud City, the Bespinite wore blue pants and a long-sleeved white shirt with a black vest. They also wore their hair tied up in a bun.[1] After they joined the Rebel Alliance, the human donned a brown vest.[2] During the rebels' mission to Cloud City, the Bespinite utilized a stormtrooper's E-11 blaster rifle.[1]
