At some point, an individual owned a desk carved out of Batuuan ebony.[2] By 229 BBY,[1] legend stated that Mirialan general Abediah Viess had choked the owner to death above the desk so none of their blood was spilled on its valuable surface. The desk eventually came into possession of Viess and she kept it in her office in the Nihil main base on the world Hetzal Prime.[2] That year,[1] while observing the room, the Nihil captain Melis Shryke sat behind the desk and mentally recalled the legend of the desk and its owner, which she believed true.[2]

The desk owner was mentioned in the 2023 novel The High Republic: The Eye of Darkness, written by George Mann and published as a part of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project's[2] Phase III.[3]
