"Incredible."
"Quiet, rookie."
―The clone trooper and Commander Cody[2]

A rookie clone trooper was a member of Ghost Company during the Clone Wars and fought in the Battle of Ryloth in 21 BBY.

Biography

In 21 BBY,[3] during the Battle of Ryloth, the members of Ghost Company, led by Jedi General Obi-Wan Kenobi and Clone Commander Cody, had the mission to liberate the city of Nabat from the Confederacy of Independent Systems and to destroy the J-1 proton cannons that were targeting the Acclamator-class transgalactic military assault ships that had brought them to the planet.[2]

After the gunships carrying them to the surface of Ryloth landed, General Kenobi, Commander Cody and the members of Ghost Company destroyed the B1-series battle droid guarding the outer perimeter of the village and General Kenobi told Commander Cody to send his best men to scout ahead. The commander chose Waxer, Boil and Wooley to scout the area with him. After a while, the commander said that he would check out the courtyard along with Wolley and told Waxer and Boil to reconnoiter the south sector. Commander Cody and Wooley found the proton canons, which were located near the Separatist command center. They also saw that the droids were using Twi'lek prisoners as leaving shields to protect the guns against Republic attacks. After they returned to inform General Kenobi of this, a Viper probe droid began spying on them as the Jedi Master was planning their attack with Commander Cody and General Mace Windu. At the same time, Waxer and Boil encountered Numa and discussed whether to take her with them or leave her where they found her, before following her to make sure she was safe and looking after her.[2]

Soon after, starved Gutkurrs attacked the Republic forces after TX-20, who led the Separatist forces in the area, ordered them to be released for that reason. General Kenobi, Commander Cody and the members of Ghost Company fought against them and the Jedi Master led the Gutkurrs away from the clones using a mind trick. As he did so, this clone trooper said that that was incredible, and Commander Cody told him to be quiet. The Gutkurrs followed General Kenobi to an alley with one-way access and he told the clones to shoot a bridge above it. They did so, trapping the Gutkurrs there. Afterwards, Waxer and Boil joined them, along with Numa.[2]

Numa showed General Kenobi, Waxer and Boil the location of the Twi'lek prisoners while Commander Cody and the rest of Ghost Company, including this rookie clone trooper, attacked the droids guarding them to create a diversion so the prisoners could be saved by the Jedi and the two clones. At some point during the ensuing fight, since they were outnumbered and attacked by AATs, the commander ordered the rookie clone trooper and the rest of the company to retreat in order to prevent casualties.[2]

The proton cannons were destroyed by General Kenobi, Waxer and Boil, the three also freeing the prisoners who destroyed TX-20 as the Acclamators arrived. The battle ended with a victory for the Republic, as did the entire Battle of Ryloth after the Separatist forces in Lessu, the capital of the planet, were defeated by General Windu and his troops along with the Twi'lek Resistance led by Cham Syndulla and General Windu captured the Separatist leader Wat Tambor.[2][4]
