During the Republic Era, a battle droid previously owned by the Trade Federation operated on the moon Black Rock. While trying to obtain a datadisc from the Ithorian Romtok, the salvage tow captain proceeded to swallow the disc whole, which led the battle droid to kill the Ithorian with a laser cutter. As the droid tried to remove the disc from the deceased Ithorian, the human Jedi Obi-Wan Kenobi barged in and sliced the droid in half not long after with his lightsaber.[2]
