- "I've seen a Trandoshan on the hunt. There used to be one in Pan's Tempest. Sslanno, they called him. Lost his scales in a plasma blast and they never grew back. I once saw him pull out a Whiphid's spine with his bare hands. You should have heard that Whiph squeal. I vowed I'd never be in a situation where I'd be the Whiph."
- ―Andrik Keller, to Pan Eyta
A Whiphid lived during the High Republic Era.[1] By 231 BBY,[2] the Whiphid had their spine pulled out by Sslanno—a Trandoshan member of the Nihil Tempest led by the Dowutin Pan Eyta—with Sslanno carrying out the act with his bare hands. The incident caused the Whiphid to squeal, and was witnessed by the Er'Kit Nihil Andrik Keller, who vowed to never be in the same situation as the Whiphid had been.[1]
In 231 BBY,[2] Keller spoke with Eyta and informed him of when he had been hunted by the Trandoshan Jedi Master Sskeer at the Battle of Galov[1] from earlier that year.[2] As he spoke, the Er'Kit recalled the incident involving Sslanno and the Whiphid as an example of having previously seen a Trandoshan on the hunt. Keller then noted that despite his vow he would not find himself in a situation like the Whiphid had been, he had done exactly that.[1]
