«More like a free-form sculpture if Thrawn is involved.»
―The syndic, in a session of the Syndicure[1]

A Chiss syndic represented the Chiss Ascendancy's Ufsa family in the Chiss Syndicure, the ruling body of the Ascendancy.[1] In 19 BBY,[2] the syndic served on a tribunal that investigated the actions of Senior Captain Mitth'raw'nuruodo, core name "Thrawn," during the attack on the Paataatus Hiveborn nation.[1]

During the tribunal, she poked fun at the senior captain's enthusiasm for art, stating that the Chiss Expansionary Defense Fleet operated as a "free-form sculpture" when Thrawn was involved. Shortly after, after Senior Captain Kiwu'tro'owmis "Wutroow," a member of the task force, stated that a Chiss emissary was responsible for alerting the Paataatus to the fleet's attack vector, the Ufsa syndic firmly stated that no diplomat could be so foolish.[1]

Behind the scenes

The syndic appeared in the 2020 novel Thrawn Ascendancy: Chaos Rising, the first installment of Timothy Zahn's Star Wars: The Ascendancy Trilogy.[1]
