A Tarsunt served as a senator in the Galactic Empire's Imperial Senate during the Imperial Era. In 3 BBY, they met with Senator Mon Mothma on[1] the Empire's capital planet[2] Coruscant while[1] she[2] attempted to get votes in the Senate to challenge Emperor Palpatine's extension of the Public Order Resentencing Directive. During the meeting, Mothma presented crime rate numbers rising by nineteen percent within the top seventy-five planets with formerly the lowest counts two years prior. The Tarsunt rejected the numbers, questioning whose numbers they were and stated that all senators could game the numbers to make their points. Instead, they chose to believe what they felt. They had yellow skin, black eyes, and white hair. When meeting Mothma, they wore a long purple robe with a light purple and gold belt.[1]

Behind the scenes

The senator first appeared in "Ever Been to Ghorman?," the fourth episode of the second season of the live-action series Star Wars: Andor, released on Disney+[1] on April 29, 2025.[3] Before their appearance in the episode, the Tarsunt was first pictured in Andor Season 2: A Special Look, a Disney+ documentary[4] released on March 4, 2025[5] providing an early look at the series.[4]

The Tarsunt was portrayed by Derek Arnold and was listed in the episode's credits as "Senator #3."[1] The costume for the senator was developed by costume designer Michael Wilkinson's team,[6] overseen by visual effects supervisor[1] Mohen Leo and head of creature and droid effects Neal Scanlan.[6]
