"Obviously, things were gonna get messy, and indeed they did. In the final round of bidding, a Crimson Dawn agent outbid the closest contenders—an unaffiliated Talz smuggler and some tall hooded fellas I presume had something to do with the Commerce Guild."
―Sana Starros[1]

An unaffiliated Talz smuggler lived during the Imperial Era. When an auction for a device known as the Phylanx Redux Transmitter was held by the Wandering Star criminal syndicate in the city Canto Bight on[1] the Outer Rim planet[2] Cantonica around 3 BBY,[3] the smuggler attended and took part. During the final round of bidding for the device, the smuggler was outbid by an agent of the criminal syndicate Crimson Dawn. A few weeks later, the bounty hunter Sana Starros, who had been present at the auction, mentioned the Talz's presence at the event to the smugglers Han Solo and Chewbacca when the three sought to find the Phylanx Redux Transmitter for Starros' employers—the criminal syndicate Droid Gotra.[1]

Behind the scenes

The Talz smuggler was mentioned in flashbacks in the 2018 novel Last Shot, written by Daniel José Older.[1]
