- "Obviously, things were gonna get messy, and indeed they did. In the final round of bidding, a Crimson Dawn agent outbid the closest contenders—an unaffiliated Talz smuggler and some tall hooded fellas I presume had something to do with the Commerce Guild."
- ―Sana Starros, to Han Solo and Chewbacca
An individual was an agent of the criminal syndicate Crimson Dawn during the Imperial Era.[1] Around 3 BBY,[2] an auction for a device known as the Phylanx Redux Transmitter was held by the Wandering Star criminal syndicate in the city Canto Bight on[1] the Outer Rim planet[3] Cantonica, and the agent was sent to represent their organization. During the auction's final round, the agent successfully outbid an unaffiliated Talz smuggler and individuals who Sana Starros—a bounty hunter attending on behalf of the criminal syndicate Droid Gotra—suspected were connected to the Commerce Guild. When a firefight broke out during the auction, however, the device disappeared. A few weeks later, Starros mentioned the Crimson Dawn agent's presence at the auction to the smugglers Han Solo and Chewbacca when the three sought to find the Phylanx Redux Transmitter for Starros' employers.[1]
Behind the scenes
The Crimson Dawn agent was mentioned in flashbacks in the 2018 novel Last Shot, written by Daniel José Older.[1]
