This article covers a subject from a Star Wars: Visions story that Lucasfilm declared is set in an alternate history within a reimagined galaxy.

At one point, an individual was a prominent Sith Lord. Centuries after his death, the Ankok cult worshiped him and the dark side of the Force while based in a city. The Sith's preserved corpse was held seated on a throne inside a structure in the settlement and was used in ceremonies by the cult. Ankok's leader, Tata, who admired the Sith Lord and viewed herself as his rightful successor, would summon tendrils that extended from the throne toward the awaiting cultists and entered their mouths.

During one gathering of the cult, Tata used the tendrils to immobilize Kako, a young woman who hated both Ankok and the dark side, and the latter person experienced a vision in which she saw the re-animated body of the Sith Lord reach out to her. At that point, the merchant Popo shot a hole into the real corpse's head with a pistol, leading to the Sith's mortal remains dissipating, not long after which Kako killed Tata with a lightsaber.

Biography

A Sith Lord preserved

The Sith Lord's corpse was used in an Ankok cult ceremony during an occultation of a celestial body.

A Force-sensitive individual was at one point a major and notorious Sith Lord,[3] a member of the Sith tradition of adherents of the dark side of the Force. Centuries after his death,[1] a cult named Ankok[3] rose to prominence[2] in a city, centered around the worship of him and the dark side[1] and promising to end people's suffering.[2] Tata, the Force-sensitive[4] human[2] leader[3] and messenger of the cult,[2] admired the Sith Lord[4] and believed herself to be the rightful successor to him[3] and to the legacy of the Sith.[1]

The Sith Lord's body was preserved in a towering structure in the city. It was seated in a throne that was suspended atop a pole. Ankok would use the mortal remains in a ceremony where Tata stood on a pedestal in front of the lifted seat. At a specific moment, a dark celestial body in the sky above the settlement occulted its light counterpart of the same apparent size, with the phenomenon aligning itself visually in the center of an opening in the wall of the structure behind the corpse. Directed by Tata's powers, at that point, voluminous, flesh-like tendrils began emerging from the throne and reaching toward the expectant cultists—whose mouths they then entered.[2]

The final ceremony

The Sith Lord's body dissipated after being shot in the head.

During one Ankok gathering in the structure housing the deceased Sith Lord, Tata summoned to the pedestal Kako,[2] the granddaughter of[4] a Sith[2] stormtrooper commander[4] who hated both the cult[2] and the dark side.[4] The cult leader then had the tendrils lift the young woman in the air and enter[2] her[3] mouth, at which point the latter experienced a vision. Kako saw herself floating in the air in front of Tato's giant, distorted head, and the Sith Lord's re-animated body reached out a hand toward the former individual. At that moment inside the structure, however, Popo,[2] a merchant[4] from the city who was bored with everyday life and had accompanied Kako on visiting the edifice, fired a pistol at the Sith Lord's corpse, shooting a hole in its head.[2]

The remains of the Sith then disintegrated into black-colored pieces, with Kako's vision being dispelled. Kako, who by that point had been freed from the immobilizing tendrils, then used a lightsaber to mortally impale Tata. Later, after the Ankok members had left the building, another cultist approached Tata's body, with their hand extended toward it and the tendrils reaching out from the former cult leader's torso wound. At the moment of the light astronomical object's occultation, the tendrils enveloped the cultist and their eyes turned white.[2]

Personality and traits

During his lifetime, the individual was a prominent Sith Lord. He had a generally humanoid upper body build. Centuries after his death, his preserved body had gray skin, red fingernails, and white eyes in his skeletal face. During the occultation ceremony and in Kako's vision, black tendrils extended from the corpse's head to the right side of it, with them also extending toward the Ankok cultists during the former event.[2]

Equipment

The Sith Lord's body was clothed in a red hooded cape—similar to those worn by the Ankok cultists—with red wrappings on his arms and a tied-together red piece of cloth covering his lower body. The latter article of clothing extended into one of the tendrils summoned by Tata shortly before the disintegration of the Sith's corpse.[2]
