- "You're a big fella, aren't you?"
"Yes."
"Here for the Cathar settlements?"
"Yes."
"Sure you are. I'll get you a blaster. Ever fired one?"
"Many times."
"Super. On behalf of the Taris Reconstruction Authority, welcome home." - ―The Cathar quartermaster and a Cathar
A Human male served the Galactic Republic as a quartermaster during the Cold War between the Republic and the reconstituted Sith Empire.[1] In 3643 BBY,[2] he was posted on the planet Taris during the Taris Resettlement Initiative. On the behalf of the Taris Reconstruction Authority, he greeted a Cathar settler in the Olaris Spaceport.[1]
Behind the scenes
The quartermaster first appeared in the 2011 BioWare massively multiplayer online roleplaying video game Star Wars: The Old Republic, as an ambient non-player character on Taris with the nameplate "Tired Quartermaster".[1]

STAR WARS: The Old Republic - Question ! :) - Page 3 on The Old Republic's official website (backup link) places Star Wars: The Old Republic about ten to twelve years after the signing of the Treaty of Coruscant, which is dated to 3653 BBY by Star Wars: The Old Republic Encyclopedia. The Old Republic — The Lost Suns 2 takes place ten years after the treaty, one week after the mission to Nar Shaddaa, and around the time of the SpecForce Incident. Since the mission and the incident are respectively part of Act I of the Jedi Knight and Republic Trooper's storylines, and the Trooper's Act I occurs concurrent to Act I of the Smuggler storyline, the general events of the Prologue and Act I for all classes can be assumed to occur in 3643 BBY. The conversation between the quartermaster and the settler is witnessed by Republic players who visit their faction's version of Taris. Republic classes visit Taris during Act I of their class stories, placing the conversation in the year 3643 BBY.
