"An Empire!" - ―The Oathkeeper leads the Senate in an oath
An alien individual served as Oathkeeper of the Imperial Senate of the Galactic Empire during its reign.[1] In 3 BBY,[2] they led a session of the senate in an oath of allegiance during Senate Investiture week, crying out from[1] the Chancellor's Podium in the Imperial Senate Building on the planet Coruscant.[3] The senators present repeated each line of the oath after the Oathkeeper and cheered once it was complete, although Senator Mon Mothma stopped repeating the Oathkeeper's words before they finished.[1] In 2 BBY,[4] the Oathkeeper initiated a Senate meeting, where Mon Mothma spoke out about the Ghorman Massacre, publicly denounced Supreme Chancellor Palpatine and revealed herself as a member of the Rebellion.[5]
Personality and traits
While leading the oath, the Oathkeeper wore brown and golden robes and a piece of golden headwear. They had brown skin and brown eyes.[1]

The Oathkeeper first appeared in "What a Festive Evening," the sixth episode of the second season of the Disney+ live-action series Star Wars: Andor,[1] which aired on April 29, 2025.[6] The Oathkeeper was portrayed by Cavin Cornwall.[1]
