A Cloud operated within the Nihil pirate organization during the High Republic Era.[1] Around 228 BBY,[2] the Cloud had a run-in with a hunting party of the Drengir,[1] sentient[3] carnivorous plants. At some point after, the Nihil scientist Doctor Zadina Mkampa salvaged Drengir cuttings from the encounter.[1] That year,[2] as Mkampa tended to the cuttings in her Spider Squall cruiser, the Firebringer, she mentally recalled the run-in between the Drengir and the Nihil Cloud that had left the saplings.[1]

The Nihil Cloud was mentioned in the 2025 young-adult novel The High Republic: Into the Light, written by Claudia Gray as part of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project's[1] Phase III.[4]
