- "W–what are they?"
"The baron's failed experiments. The Nihil who…gave up information about this place…he said Boolan has been trying to create hunters of his own, targeting people who can divert the White Current." - ―Krrl and H'Tar
An individual served as a member of the Nihil[1] marauders[2] during the High Republic Era. After the Ithorian scientist Baron Boolan joined the Nihil[1] in 229 BBY[3] and began experimenting on Force-sensitive individuals to create a group of hunters[1] known as the Children of the Storm[2] in his lair Shingcu Station, the individual learned what Boolan was doing and eventually gave up information about the station to the human female bounty hunter H'Tar.[1]
Between 229 BBY and 228 BBY,[3] after H'Tar was hired by the Nazzar Krrl to rescue his sister Akray from Boolan, the two traveled to Shingcu Station where they saw several of the baron's failed experiments. After Krrl asked what they were, H'Tar informed him what they were and noted that she had learned about the station from the Nihil member.[1]
Behind the scenes
The Nihil was mentioned in flashbacks in "Brothers and Sisters," a comic story included in the anthology The High Republic Adventures Phase III Annual. The story was written by Cavan Scott and published by Dark Horse Comics as part of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project's Phase III[1] on January 29, 2025.[4]

- ↑ 3.0 3.1 The High Republic – Shadows of Starlight 4 establishes that Boolan was recruited into the Nihil five months after the Destruction of Starlight Beacon, which per The High Republic – Shadows of Starlight 1 and Star Wars: The High Republic Character Encyclopedia corresponds to 229 BBY. "Brothers and Sisters" depicts H'Tar becoming a member of the Children of the Storm and is stated by the story to be its first member. Per the reasoning here, the events of The High Republic: Temptation of the Force, which take place at least one year and a few months after the destruction of Starlight Beacon, must take place in 228 BBY. As Temptation of the Force features Boolan as part of the Nihil and establishes that the Children of the Storm exist during its events, the flashback events of "Brothers and Sisters" featuring H'Tar must occur between those two years.
