The Mon Calamari cruiser debuted in Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi, which debuted in 1983. The vessel appeared in the assortment of Rebel starships prior to the Battle of Endor and was located in the background.[1] According to author Paul Duncan, concept art of the cruiser was created for Return of the Jedi, and that there were images of the ship's miniature model in the Lucasfilm Archives. The cruiser's model was featured in storyboards,[2] one of which was included in Star Wars Storyboards: The Original Trilogy.[3]
