A Knight of Ren[3] traveled to a Jedi temple to retrieve an ancient Jedi artifact. The Knight of Ren was later killed by the temple's defenses. At some point, Qi'ra came across the knight's corpse while visiting the temple.[2]
Behind the scenes
- "My general policy is always "well, they didn't tell me I couldn't"."
- ―E. K. Johnston, on using a Knight of Ren
The Knight of Ren[3] appeared as a corpse in the 2023 novel Crimson Climb by author E. K. Johnston.[2] As the novel is told from the perspective of characters who are largely unfamiliar with the Force,[5] the Knight's affiliation is only alluded to in the text.[2] Johnson was not told she could not use the Knights of Ren and thus used that as her opening to feature[4] the character's corpse.[2] The individual's identity as a Knight of Ren was not confirmed until 2025 via a BlueSky post from Johnson.[3]

Notes and references
- ↑ The Knight of Ren died by the the events of Crimson Climb. Crimson Climb ends around a year and a half after the flashbacks of Solo: A Star Wars Story. Because Star Wars: Timelines dates the Solo flashbacks to 13 BBY, the latest Crimson Climb spans is around 12 BBY. Therefore, the Knight of Ren must have died by that year.

Did you intend for it to be a known Inquisitor or a new Inquisitor character?)
