During the Galactic Civil War, the Galactic Empire established an asteroid base to construct their collector-repulsor array. The facility contained production lines for low-yield repulsorlift motors and a scanning bowl seemingly for a communications array, recreation and living quarters for the base personnel, and a secure laboratory buried deep in the rock of the asteroid.[1]
