Unidentified Chiss family

The title of this article is conjectural. Although this article is based on official information from the Star Wars Legends continuity, the actual name of this subject is pure conjecture.

A syndic that opposed Assistant Syndic Soontir Fel once belonged to a family that was among the Ruling Families of the Chiss Ascendancy. According to the account given by Aristocra Chaf'orm'bintrano^[1] in 35 ABY,^[3] it was one of three Ruling Families that employed hives of the sentient Killiks as a work force during a civil conflict between the Chiss. As a result, the Family fell out of power^[4] by 28 ABY^[2] and was destroyed by Soontir Fel^[1] over the family's continued reliance on the Killiks.^[4]

Behind the scenes

The family was mentioned in Dark Nest I: The Joiner King, the first installment of Star Wars: The Dark Nest Trilogy, which was written by Troy Denning and published in 2005.^[1] The 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas identified four of the Ruling Families that fell on the losing side of a civil conflict between Chiss of the planets Sharb, Noris, Schesa, and Ornfra, while two of the Ruling Families of the planets Catlia and Massoss became Joiners.^[4] Since the novel clearly refers to the former, the family must have been the resident of one of the four planets.
