An elderly Chiss male individual once interacted with Senior Captain Xodlak'in'daro, core name "Lakinda," when she was a member of her original family on the Chiss Ascendancy terrestrial astronomical object Oyokal. The man stood and told her: "When you see the saddlebull is about to throw you, jump off."[1] In 18 BBY,[2] Lakinda's then-present family, the Xodlak family, had grown unhappy with her and were considering the removal of her position from the family. After being offered to rematch to the ruling Irizi family, she remembered the old man and his saying and ultimately decided to join the Irizi.[1]

Behind the scenes

The Chiss was mentioned in the 2021 novel Thrawn Ascendancy: Greater Good, the second installment of Timothy Zahn's Star Wars: The Ascendancy Trilogy.[1]
